Dr. Kevin Smith, MD

I have been suffering an undefined condition for over 40 years. This doctor took the time to run the necessary tests and paid close attention to my concerns and questions as to where others never did but pushed damaging medications on me. I was able to get the proper diagnosis and medical treatments for my thyroid disease because of this doctor. I have never had an issue with his staff they were always pleasant to me. I will never willingly go to another doctor anywhere else.

Stopped going to this doctor because of his staff. Dr Kevin was good, however his staff is rude and unknowledgeable. Also beware as the staff will tell you that you have not met your deductible even though you have, then charge you cash then bill your insurance as well, and then you have to continuously call them to try to get it back.

Dr. Smith himself is kind and seems to care about patients. However his office staff is an absolute joke of unprofessionalism and rudeness. They will constantly tell you to call a month later to schedule appointments, and then claim they can't refill basic medications unless you see them in person. They are rude over the phone and have hung up on me on numerous occasions. I'm going through withdrawals from a medication because they can't figure out how to schedule appointments or contact a pharmacy properly. They also claim they will "let the doctor know you called" and will never reach back out and get upset when you call them trying to follow up. They do not offer telehealth or phone appointments because they can't bill your insurance as much, and only take cash in a post-covid environment. All in all, very disappointing, rude, unhelpful office staff for a doctor that actually seems to care but is hindered by the unprofessionals he hires

Great doctor in Barstow CA

While I like Dr. Smith, his office staff lacks professionalism, never responds to voicemail or email, and he requires a paid office visit to refill even basic maintenance prescriptions. Unfortunately the front office staff make it a horribly frustrating experience. They require all payments in cash. They cannot process a debit or credit card. During a pandemic they are incapable of embracing technology and still want office visits. He will not talk to you on the phone or respond to any electronic communications. This office is 30 miles from my home. I really don’t have 3 hours to loose to go visit for a prescription he could call in.

Doctor Smith has been our family doctor for years. He’s very kind and Thorough.

Ladies up front are kind. However the wait time, is ridiculous. My appointment was at 1030am, but was not seen until 1230pm. I went in because I had a sore throat, he dismissed it and sent me on my way. I had strep throat. I went back and he wanted to charge me for another visit. In my opinion he is not a good doctor. So I got another one.

Dr. Smith asked a lot of questions & seemed to care about helping me at first. I told him I started having bad heartburn suddenly, every day for the last 6 weeks. I hadn't eaten anything unusual. So he said,"it's something you ate, if you told me that you started having heartburn suddenly every day for 6 weeks, then I'd be concerned" That's what I just said! Unbelievable! He put his hand on my knee as we talked and gave me a creepy hug at the end. Maybe a man could have an easier time with him?
