Dr. Kevin McNamara, MD

I recently moved to the area, and needed to select all new doctors. My husband passed away last year, and leading up to his passing, I had put my own health needs on the back burner for the last 4-5 years, to attend to his more urgent needs. Ultimately, his health issues left me with some trust issues and concerns with the medical field, another reason why I delayed. I just had my first visit and subsequent encounters for my colonoscopy with Dr McNamara this last month. During our visit he listened closely and spoke to me and ordered additional testing for an issue I was concerned with. Then, on the day of my colonoscopy, he went ahead and did an endoscopy to address some other issues I was experiencing. His bedside manner was great, and he took good care of me during the procedures. I feel very comfortable and confident in my choice to select him as one of my new caregivers.

Went to ER for severe abdominal pain .I was able to see him within 4 days while all the other GI clinics were booked for weeks.he took the time and schedule tests and a medical plan. The only negative thing is the Clenpiq solution to take in the middle of the night with empty stomach ,disgusting.inhad other colonoscopy and no solution to take

Dr McNamara has a refreshing, attentive way about him. He sits comfortably and has great eye contact and does not at all appear in a hurry. He answered questions in an easy to understand manner and made sure I understood. He made sure I didn’t need any prescriptions and asked if I had more questions.

Dr. McNamara explained the procedure and is caring and kind. Could not ask for a better experience.

After my initial visit, I scheduled a surgical procedure. I have total faith in his abilities as a specialist.

I had seen another Dr who did a procedure and said there was nothing more he could do for me. Dr McNamara took the time to listen to listen to me. He was honest, friendly and empathetic. He was very thorough and didn't rush me. I'm so thankful to have been referred to him and I highly recommend him!

Dr. McNamara is personable, and highly knowledgeable in his field not only with regard to the procedure and the medicine itself, but industry guidelines for time frames to safely keep up with gastrointestinal issues from a preventative standpoint. Excellent care.

The prep for my colonoscopy did well and Dr. McNamara was through with his explanation. This is my 3rd colonoscopy and the best experience ... for what one has to go through.

I will say, I love Dr. McNamara, however, after going in for a visit to get my medication refilled for my colitis, his nurse caused much pain and suffering that interrupted my life for over a week and it wasn’t necessary. He sent my RX to my mail in pharmacy, which was going to take over a week to arrive. I ran out of my medication while waiting, and called the office to see if I could get a few days called in to get me by until the mail order RX came. The nurse told me that Dr. McNamara would not do that, that they couldn’t have 2 requests out for the same medication. I know docs have done that before for people and have done that for me before. I told her that most docs don’t have a problem with that and would she please just ask him. I never got a call back from him and was very sick for 7 days. The nurse had complete disregard for my wellbeing. I’m chalking it up to her inexperience, but Dr. McNamara, please hire a new nurse that has compassion for your patients.

Colonoscopy was easy. Doctor McNamara was great. Nurses very kind. If only the Plenvu prep had not been so horrible and so strong.
