Zero for my review
Dr Gaffney and Edwin were beyond rude to me. Dr Gaffney came in and told me I had CIDP and would never walk again and I could look it up myself when I asked what it was. He said I would need infusions 3 times a week and sent me home with literally no information. He said my insurance would not cover my IVIG meds and refused to even fight for them but it was because he had no test to back it up. I had to go get copies of my papers from him and find a new neurologist and in the notes him and Edwin wrote I was lying. The new neurologist did extensive testing and diagnosed me with CIDP and was able to get my IVIG meds started almost immediately. Dr Gaffney and Edwin had no respect for me and had no answers for any questions I asked basically said I can look it up myself and handed me a sticky note with CIDP on it. If you have a serious condition he is not the one to see he will not respond and you will have to go to the office and literally refuse to leave to get an answer. Zero review!!

OH OH
I have had two mystery (according to him) attacks. My face sags, I can't speak, get aggressive and have great difficulty moving. I don't what is wrong so I saw him. He had me touch my nose. Really? By the way I missed. No tests or anything. I figured I was on my own until the neuro from the ER called and said I needed to see her ASAP. I have brains bleeds from concussions and am now TBI patient which I don't like being referred as. The neuro from the ER ordered tests and showed me the pretty severe damage to my frontal lobe. Oh well live and learn. I am on certain meds to control my downfall and I am only 50. If you something minor, he would he be good but I can't really say to see him if you or a loved one have the potential for something serious - no.

Doesn't listen to women, pushes expensive meds
As a concerned husband, I strongly advise against visiting Dr. Gaffney's practice, especially if you're a woman. My wife's experience was nothing short of a nightmare. Despite her complaints of migraines, Dr. Gaffney and his PA, Edwin, refused to acknowledge her concerns and prescribed expensive medications and injections that were of no help. When I suggested an MRI of her neck, Edwin was dismissive and rude to me, and assumed insurance would not cover it. We had to fight tooth and nail with Edwin to get the MRI ordered, which our insurance approved immediately. Seven days after the results came in, we were finally referred to a neurosurgeon with no explanation from Dr. Gaffney whatsoever. We strongly suggest finding a more caring and competent physician for your medical needs.

I’m really surprised by all the negative reviews. I found Dr. Gaffney very thorough and professional. I’ve been to a few neurologist and he is by far the best in the area. I liked the whole Memorial Hermann office and would definitely recommend this clinic to anyone looking for a good neurologist.

I would give him zero stars. He does not return phone calls. His answering service says he does not respond to his pages. Has no compassion for my mother with dementia. She has had 2 seizures in the last week. We have left 3 messages for him but he will not respond. Do not take anyone you care about to this doctor.

Quack doctor, avoid at all costs. Extremely condescending, smug, rude, incompetent, and will rush you out with a bogus diagnosis in under five minutes. Clearly doesn't care about his patients at all. He should have his medical license taken away.

Dr Gaffney is a fine, knowledgeable gentleman. UNFORTUNATELY his affiliation with Mischer Neurosciences Clinic of Hermann Memorial Hospital System, Houston, Texas hanesss him hamstrung. You NEVER, NEVER get a real person on the phone, even to make an appointment!!! This is an indicator for being understaffed. It is also an indicator for Hermann Memorial support staff for being in control of the infrastructure and support of Gaffney's office. Gaffney's effectiveness is being wasted!! SAD!!!

I met with Dr. Gaffney in early 2012, after I had an experienced of an extreme headache with nausea which resulted in a visit to the ER. many test were done at that time. He had me touch my nose with my finger and a couple of other similar tests. He concluded nothing was wrong with me after 5 minutes and sent me home. I suffered a large ruptured aneurysm last year. I can only conclude that had he pursued my symptoms I would have been treated prior to the rupture.

I found Dr. Gaffney to be an excellent medical provider. I was able to get an appointment quickly, he answered all of my questions in detail but in a way that was easily understood. He provided recommendations for follow-ups with other doctors and even periodically called to check on my progress between appointments. After being treated by several different doctors over the course of many years I can honestly say that his care is the best I have experienced.
