More listening and doing
My points was not heard and my problem wasn’t solved. He talked over me so much that I couldn’t get a word out. They X-ray my neck when my back was an issue. I never mentioned anything about my neck but they ignored my concerns and went with the flow. We do not come to these types of visits just to chit chat. Very disappointed and it was an absolute waste of money.

Dr. Dietel is so friendly and optimistic that it’s contagious! He almost makes me forget about the severe pain I’m in just with his attitude! He genuinely seems to try to get at the root of the issue to get you healed.

Not impressed. Dismissive Doctor
Initially seen by a medical assistant, who asked if I’d be open to an x-ray. Waited another 20 minutes for the x-ray, then waited another 20 minutes for the doctor. About a one hour wait total. His doctor was very dismissive of prior similar symptoms, as well as the prior physician.

Not my cup of tea.
He has a very fast out there personality from the energy I got from our first visit. It felt very impersonal and seemed like he just wanted to knock out my appointment and let me know what procedure he'll do so it was a very quick session for waiting for such a long time to see him and I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment started. I was nervous for meeting a new doctor and my back has been terrible for me so I was looking forward to someone helping me and making me feel comfortable but it wasn't like that at all. I ended up getting a procedure done for something that wasn't my main concern so I was not listened to at the initial visit.

Dr.Deitel is Amazing. From the minute, you meet him, you know, you are going to be treated well and that you are in knowledgeable hands. I had fallen and thought I had broke my back. Turns out I had not.Doctor Deitel Understood that I was skeptical about the x-rays. He wasn't insulted at all but he had me do a lot of different movements in his office and he examined my neck and back and made me feel confident that my back was not broken. It was very personable and very kind. This. Is an important trait when you are dealing with people who are injured and scared. It's amazing to me how venture orthopedics are so good at picking such good surgeons.

Spent less than 3 minutes with me
Tried to explain what the ER told me about my injury. He talked over me. I asked him to listen and he didn’t. He gave no helpful ideas or thoughts on how to lessen the pain or heal better. I was scared and unfamiliar with this process. He couldn’t have cared less.

Not an assembly line feeling, compassion
So often healthcare lately has felt like a car part at an assemble line, no feeling of caring, feel provider under pressure from their provider group to spend as little time as possible with the patient, check boxes, move on, fast. Dr. Dietel was smart, compassionate, listened, took time, understood. The whole office made me feel like exactly like what I was, a hurting human patient needing competent, caring medical care. It was actually pleasant, reassuring and helpful.

Dr Deitel
Dr Deitel was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained my mother’s condition after having X-rays done on the premises, which was a godsend since my mom is 101 yrs old. I found the doctor to be very kind and caring and personable. He put me at ease about how to help my mom deal with her tailbone pain. She did not need surgery but did require pain management. I appreciate Dr Deitel’s attention and advice.

Try your hardest to find another doctor.
Dr. Deitel talked at me, 'demanding' to know why I came to see him. He said twice, 'hurry up, tell me what's wrong.' My presenting complaint was clearly marked on the intake form I had just completed. 'Back pain on the lower right side' - that shouldn't be too difficult to grasp. He was quick to tell me he is a surgeon and walked out of the exam room while I was in mid sentence. Listening is not his strong suit, and so it's not a surprise that he was not helpful. Please read other patient reviews about this doctor, they are similar to mine. Good luck!

Obnoxious!
The only thing he cared to listen to me about was my previous doctors in Beverly Hills and then he bashed them and said I should be careful of doctors in Beverly Hills - they only care about making money. Then he rambled on about himself. I did not feel heard or cared for in the slightest. He referred me to a pain specialist. I did not get a 2nd opinion on my diagnosis today. I felt like I was being punked.
