Dr. Kerry Shaughnessy, MD

She is the worst doctor ever. I went in for a body check and I left in tears. I felt so humiliated and insulted. I have at least a dozen skin cancers on my body. I was trying to show her and she totally ignored me. She did four biopsies without a pause, then walked out. All of them were cancer, but I’m convinced she mixed up the samples. because the reports description doesn’t match the cancer areas. I need to have Mohs surgery, but I refuse to go back to that place. I need to find a dermatologist ASAP

Dr. Shaughnessy removed my melanoma from my back. She explained everything about the procedure and was very thorough and reassuring. And I just received my biopsy results and Dr. Shaughnessy got it all. Great job and thanks to Dr. Shaughnessy and Water's Edge Dermatology.

She was not at all personable nor did she act like I was a person,; felt like just a number. I think this practice gives too little time for doctor patient interaction. But she doesnt handle it well. Id never see her again. I see the PA Richard Gagnon who has been great for me and knows me.

My prior doctor passed away so I met with Dr. Shaughnessy for the first time and what a pleasant experience-- she was very comprehensive in her review and quite personable-- I felt very comfortable and confident in her expertise. Her assistant was also very nice.

Dr Shaughnessy was very professional yet friendly, and treated me and the office staff with respect. She answered all my questions to my satisfaction. I would definitely see her again should the need arise.

I'm really surprised to see so many negative reviews. I did not witness any of the negatives that I read in the reviews. I found her pleasant and knowledgeable.

Very poor interpersonal skills

I was well pleased with my experience. I felt very comfortable with Dr. Shaughnessy. I feel that she is directing my care appropriately. The staff was very helpful. I was able to understand what treatment I was receiving and why. I would (and have) recommend Waters Edge to others.

Wouldn't recommend her ever!

Dr Shaughnessy was rude and unprofessional to me. She performed cryosurgery on my finger wart 3 times. The first appointment may have been 5 star, but the 4th was a zero. She accused me of asking too many redundant and argumentative questions. That was never my attention and I sincerely apologize for taking up so much of her time. But I was concerned and confused because she initially referred me to a hand surgeon for a cancer biopsy. She described the wart's rapid appearance as "suspicious

Just had my first visit with Dr Shaughnessy and I am so impressed. She took her time and addressed all of my concerns. She answered questions that I didn't even know I had. I've been to a few dermatologists over the years, and this was the most positive experience I've ever had.

I went to Dr. Shaughnessy for a yearly checkup and I also had a growth that needed to be looked at. Dr. Shaughnessy did a biopsy of the area and it was determined that I had a cancerous growth. Surgery was scheduled and the growth was completely removed. I was nervous about the procedure but she made me feel at ease with her confidence. I found her to be a wonderful Doctor very caring and thorough. My incision looks so cosmetically pleasing. She is a brilliant Doctor. 5 Stars from me very happy!

Shaughnessy is an awful doctor. Waters Edge should be careful who they have representing them. She is belittling and unprofessional to the other staff as well as patients. I have witnessed some behaviors that made me cringe and wonder how she is allowed to practice medicine or interact with patients and other professionals in that manner. She also doesn’t follow HIPAA laws. Beware that your medical information becomes public with Shaughnessy. Zero stars is more appropriate of a rating.

Dr. Shaughnessy -Dont know why her star rating was low I found her to be very professional, has a pleasant attitude along With answering your questions appropriately. Went to see her she dianosed my skin problem took care of it then had another appt. for a follow up, and now I don’t go back for another year. She’s a keeper for me! Just Lover her!!!

Worst Doctor Ever ! Very lazy, egotistical and uncaring.

Did not find Shaughnessy helpful or knowledgeable. She rushed through my appointment. I didn’t get to ask questions I wanted to. She seemed distracted and uninterested. It’s definitely a pass on this doctor if you are looking for someone who actually cares and wants to help you.

Unpleasant and unprofessional. Seemed bored and unable to focus on conversation. Wasn’t interested in any patient input. Recommended treatments did not work.

This is such a rude and arrogant doctor. She left a scar on my face and acted like I should be fine with it. When I questioned what I can do to fix it she told me she could refer me to a plastic surgeon. Run from this doctor and def think twice if she wants to do a biopsy! Get a second opinion and let them do it!

Dr. Shaunghnessy was very quick to perform a scar making biopsy on my face. She said it looked like a pimple, but when I said my brother had a basal cell in the same place she immediately went for the biopsy. I wish she had me come back in a week because there was no cancer but it did leave a permanent pock mark scar. As I asked about scaring, she ignored my question and went for the biopsy. Needless to say, I never went back.

I have seen this “doctor” a few times. I chalked up the first visit with maybe she is having a bad day. I will tell you it got no better. She is the worst “doctor” I have ever been to in over 60 years of going to doctors. I was appalled at how I was treated multiple times by Kerry Shaughnessy. I am leaving my appt in disbelief. I should also add this is the first online review I have ever done, I thought it necessary after my experiences.I want to save someone else from this horrible service.
