Do not go to him
I went Dr Kessler after I heard good things from him by my family dr. Big mistake! I had to wait 3 hours to see him for a total of 3 minutes he saw me. He had not even looked at my chart, asked me why I was there and I told him a consult. I had a large mass that he barely felt of and told me he would not help me even though I was in extreme pain from them and couldn't sleep. He laughed at me and told me too sit on it! The knot was in my trunk where I sit! He was rude, sarcastic and didn't care at all about me. Please do not go to him! I was talking with a 71 year old woman while I had to wait for 3 hours to see him. She told me she had skin cancer on her leg removed and called the office to tell them it was getting infected. It took them 3 days to call her in antibiotics! She lived an an 1 hou away and used to be a nurse. The antibiotics they gave her after 3 days didn't work. By the way, I went to a different provider & he removed my knots! Do not go to this man, he is not good!

cholecystectomy
Dr. Kessler did a fabulous job on my procedure. He also did my wife's and Mother in law same procedure. Today is day three of recovery and I have been in very minimal pain. The incision sites are healing well and I feel great. His staff and surgery team were fantastic. The staff at Baptist Health General surgery in Richmond were very kind and very good. I would recommend all of them if you need outpatient surgery. May GOD Bless you Dr. Kessler and your staff!!

Very arrogant and rude
I requested an appointment April 18th through MyChart. My appointment was automatically set by the Doctor's office on April 26th (1 week after my request to change physicians) to be seen by Dr. Kessler on May 4 at 3:00 PM. However, between April 26th and my appointment of May 4th, an employee that was scheduled to cover my work shift had an unexpected situation arise. As soon as I discovered this conflict, I canceled my appointment through MyChart (May 2, 2022 at 9:13 AM). 2 DAYS, 5 HOURS, AND 47 MINUTES ... OR 53 HOURS (rounded down). I was sent a letter stating that I needed to reschedule because I failed to give a 24 Hour notice, SIMPLE PUT - IS NOT TRUE!!! Then I was also sent a conflicted message through MyChart stating that "Per Dr Kessler 'I' cannot be rescheduled with him due to so many cancellations".

Dr. Kessler first seen me in the Er at Richmond Baptist Health. He is a very caring Dr who will go above and beyond to take care of his patients and treat them to the best of his ability to get them back on the road to better health. I have battled diverticulitis and a very large Hiatal hernia for years, thanks to him I am getting better daily and feel like life is getting back to normal. I highly recommend Dr. Kent Kessler and his staff to anyone..

Emergency appendectomy-- we called my mom on the way to the OR and Dr. Kessler prayed with her on speaker phone while he held my hand. That meant a lot. It's 24 hours later and I have had worse pain from workouts than I did from the surgery. He must be very gentle.
