Dr. Kent Ishihara, MD

I was admitted in the hospital in a thyroid storm. The next morning when the Kent Ishihara was making rounds he made statements right in front of me that were dismissive and marginalized the seriousness of my condition. By chance he was the endocrinologist that was assigned to me when I was released from the hospital. The emergency room physician diagnosed me with graves and hyperthyroidism. Kent told me upon my 1st visit he was going to remove my thyroid. I explained that I would try addressing this disease based on the research that was happening at the Mayo Clinic and John Hopkins. He replied I needed to stay off the internet. Long story short, I did follow their protocol and with in a year was pronounced in remission with another endocrinologist. This Man was not only dismissive but had no interest in listening to me and didn't appear to care at all. It doesn't surprise me he ended up kaiser! Beware of your health in this man's hands

Ishihara acts and says he’s inconvenienced by my thyroid disorder (as if I’m not the one the most inconvenienced by it). Every symptom is blamed on other factors and every other doctor I’ve gone to has told me it all points back to the thyroid. I went around him to my primary for better care of my thyroid. Would not recommend if you have thyroid issues.

Dr. Ishihara was able to diagnose my disease when other doctors were perplexed. My test results were confusing other doctors and he narrowed in on a few tests and identified it correctly. His diagnosis has greatly improved my quality of life. Thank you Dr. Ishihara!

I was really lucky to be in the good care of Dr. Ishihara. Very friendly and puts you immediately at ease. He has been my doctor for the past 2 years and has monitored my progress well to my improvement. Being very knowledgeable of his specialty,he was able to answer most of my queries. I would definitely recommend him to anyone in need of an endocrinologist- diabetologist.
