I’m a BRACA1 positive, 36 year old woman who had a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction 10 years ago. Dr. Higdon was the 3rd cosmetic surgeon I had interviewed and I knew immediately upon meeting him he was the one! He took excellent care of me then while at Vanderbilt and here we are today, 10 years later, and he’s still on top of his game. His skill level and knowledge of the reconstructive world is top tier. I would have traveled the US but am incredibly grateful he is still practicing in Middle Tennessee. His staff is friendly and professional, the office is easy to find, and they all have your best interest at heart!

Dr. Higdon and all his staff are amazing!!! I had been needing a breast reduction for a long time but was hoping insurance would cover it. They took care of everything from beginning to now. The communication was exceptional and the level of care was more than I even expected. If you are considering plastic surgery, this is the doctor for you!!!

Dr.Higdon was very thorough answering all of my questions and also my husbands. Providing details on how the procedure would go for me and giving me time to decide if I wanted to go through with it. All of my appointments were on time including my procedure. Post surgery I am so happy with my results especially with The immediate pain relief and confidence boost. I do not regret picking Dr.Higdon myself for the procedure. He is the guy for the job. If in the future I have any procedure hoping it will be with him.

I was referred to Dr. Higdon from another surgeon for muscle repair, hernia repair, tummy tuck and lipo. From the moment I made my appointment had my pre op, him and his staff answered all of my questions and made me feel So comfortable. I kept calling before surgery with a million questions and panicking, they always reassured me and made my nerves calmed. The day of surgery I was a mess, Dr. Higdon and his staff calmed me right down. The after care by his staff was the best I have ever have. I had questions a week after surgery and would call and email and they always answered. Every post op appointment I have had him and his staff have answered all my questions, and dealt with my panicky butt. I am thinking about breast implants now and I would not go/nor trust anyone else but Dr. Higdon and his staff. Hands down they are the best ever.

In 2013 when searching for a plastic surgeon to perform the numerous surgeries required for bilateral breast reconstruction, I knew I preferred a caring and personable highly skilled doctor, and when we met Dr. Higdon at Vanderbilt, my husband and I agreed he was the plastic surgeon for me. My husband and I always asked lots of questions, and we even made notes during every medical visit. Dr. Higdon and his staff answered all of our questions. Without giving lots of detail, I will say my case is complicated, and on 2 different occasions when unexpected issues required emergency care, Dr. Higdon responded quickly and took good care of my needs. He required physicians training under him to provide the same high level of care and responsiveness. Throughout the numerous surgeries, I followed all of Dr. Higdon's instructions, and my husband and I are very pleased with the results. It is 2022, and Dr. Higdon continues to be my plastic surgeon. I highly recommend Dr. Higdon.

Dr. Higdon was meticulous in my reconstruction and lift, following lumpectomy. I am an APRN, and I am very pleased with the aesthetic outcome of my surgery, and Dr. Higdon was able to preserve sensitivity in both breasts. He is down to earth and approachable, and he and his nurses are compassionate and caring.

Dr. Higdon prepared me about me surgery by answering questions and explaining steps very thoroughly during my consult pre surgery as well as post surgery. He also went above and beyond by removing a cist which was not part of the plan. Dr. Higdon has a very upbeat personable personality and made me feel very comfortable.

Dr. Higdon exceeded my expectations for my surgery. He has a very calm demeanor, very professional and understanding to patient needs/concerns, and does fantastic work. I have recommended him to many people interested in BR surgery. His staff and nurses were also amazing day of surgery.

I recently saw Dr. Higdon for bilateral breast surgery. There are no words to describe how grateful I am to Dr. Higdon for the extraordinary care I was given before, during, and after my breast surgery. He immediately calmed my fears with his compassionate and caring demeanor. His wisdom is surpassed only by the generosity of his time. He makes sure that you are informed every step of the way and alleviates any fears you may be experiencing. The results far exceeded my expectations. I felt compelled to recognize Dr. Higdon as it is rare for a doctor to be as gifted as he is and still provide compassionate and quality care.

I did not like his bedside manner. As a breast cancer patient having a double mastectomy, I was very sad and fearful. I did not appreciate being told my pre-surgery breasts looked socks with a ball in them, or that he could fix the “chicken nuggets” at my armpits. He seems to think he is charming and lightening the mood, but women don’t appreciate being objectified in this way. He also said he only does good, beautiful work, but I am not happy with my results. I have seen another plastic surgeon who agrees that my implants are too wide for my frame and do not project enough. They are basically square and somewhat flat. It’s bad enough to have your breasts amputated, but to then have an unattractive reconstruction is just an extra blow.

Dr Higdon and staff are wonderful! Amazing results for breast reconstruction! He showed concern and compassion. Very thorough and took time answering all my questions. Would definitely recommend him to others!

Breast reconstruction- Dr Higdon is the professional to go to for plastic surgery. He is pleasant, down to earth, loves his work, and cares more that his patients are satisfied. Dr Higdon’s work makes my breasts look natural. I would recommend him for any plastic surgery. He is good.

Dr. Kent Higdon is amazing. He is professional, courteous and very down to earth and does not treat you like “just another patient.” I had reconstructive last year after my double mastectomy. I was given all possible options in a way that I could understand. His timeline for recovery was almost perfect. I am very satisfied with the final result. Highly recommended!!

I had reconstruction surgery on 12/27/2019 with Dr. Higdon. He was a very professional, thorough and compassionate surgeon. He has a gentle and kind spirit. He cares and respects his patients and wants to give them the results they desire. I am very happy post-surgery.
