Another New Beginning
Good news, the doctor can now write his own prescriptions. He wasn’t a few years ago when I saw him as a patient. Please Doctor discipline yourself to use professional words in your documentation. I had to go up to his office and ask for copies of my paperwork. I’ve seen many medical professionals in my long life in four different states. Doctor Sharlin was the first to send someone to my door to sign a consent form. Congratulations an on hiring a mental health professional for your staff and not subject your poor wife, to doing a job she was not professionally trained or qualified to perform.

Horrible bed side manner
honestly in all my years of navigating in the realm of health even with myself being a holistic practitioner I have never been treated this way nor would I treat a patient or client in the way he treated my husband. Using words like “compassionate care” whilst shaking and essentially scolding us was the biggest demonstration of ego. How bout you set your ego aside do some vipassana mediation and actually provide compassionate care. If you seek him for help he is not giving compassionate care. He is selling supplements and is a failed poet.. sometimes they say when one fails at what they actually want to do follow in the footsteps of your parents. Sounds like this doctor did just that. I’m from the east coast as well and I can tell you this. If he had a practice I. Jersey or nyc he would be laughed out of the city! My recommendation don’t seek him for help unless you want to buy an overpriced supplement that you can get from a natural store.

Couldn’t ask for more!
I have been seeing Dr. Sharlin for nearly five years. His combination of neurology and functional medicine is especially helpful in treating my condition, Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH). He was quick to see me, did a flawless lumbar puncture in office, and I was diagnosed and being treated within weeks. He has always been kind and patient, answering all my questions (even when I literally bring in a list.) And his patient portal option allows me to ask him questions directly, without the need for an appointment. I love that he employs a nutritionist and health coach and more, in office. The whole team contributes to patient care and treatment plan. I love this office, and feel so lucky to live here and have this private practice options (outside of our two hospital system networks that control everything.)

Treated Horribly
I was a patient there 2 1/2 years for hormone therapy. Had trouble right at the start with billing, after several calls to office finally called a number on bill and they took care of it. I was left on a table with my pants down while he went in wrong room. That's what I was told. Had pellets inserted by a nurse unqualified and got a boil in that location . Cost me my insurance deductible plus 3 ER visits, and the pain and time. No one at the front desk bothered to tell the dr. when I had to cancel my appointment and he didn't bother to ask. Rescheduled my appointment 6 weeks out even though I asked if I could get in sooner thinking my pellets were getting low. I had to cancel this appointment because my husband had to have life saving, life changing operation and was in the hospital. Hormone levels high when I did get to see him. I heard him say what has she been doing? Why would I see him if I could do that? Have requested records 2 times haven't received them. Found new provider

He talked to me via telehealth. That was my first consultation. My insurance got billed almost $500, for a 30 minute appointment. I thought the consultation was free. His assistant never returned my calls, or replied to my emails. I had second thoughts after the difficult time getting answers from his people. Very sad how chronically ill people have to deal with expensive options, and no answers at all.

I had high hopes for this doctor. I experience a rare and debilitating pain condition. He seemed caring at first and willing to help. But after the second visit, he essentially gave up. He told me the "Health Care System" could not help me. When I suggested possible medicinal approaches and things to try, he refused saying "You might be able to get another doctor to prescribe you those things". In other words...he wouldn't and was unwilling to prescribe himself. I went to him for help after exhaustively going through the Medical System for years. I thought with his specialty and being independent from a major conglomerate health system, that he might offer a different approach of looking outside the box. But alas, that wasn't the case. At $500 dollars for a single visit, I expected and needed more. I needed more than the usual "throw up our hands, shrug our shoulders and give up" approach. The dog was a nice addition, however, and helped to create a peaceful environment.

I saw Dr. Sharlin for about 7+ years and I left his practice about 8 years ago in order to see a physician who insisted he could better help me with my complex migraines and all of the symptoms that accompany them. What a terrible mistake I made! I became worse and was treated with dangerous amounts of medications. I am now back with Dr. Sharlin and am very grateful to be. He has a brilliant mind, is kind, and truly cares for his patients. I highly recommend him.

Awful. Does not allow questions. Does not consult with prior records or physicians. Incredibly fragile ego!! Daughter has rare genetic condition and we've been seeing specialists for over 20 years...this was absolutely the most appalling experience we've ever had with a doctor.

Bottom line first, I would not recommend him. I echo some of the sentiments left by the 3 other negative review comments posted at the time of writing this, though I would not have thought so after my first appointment. It took a few times of going to get a good feel for things and a fuller picture. Now I see through the facade. The office is comfortable and clean. The dog is a nice addition. The staff are all friendly, though some seem under-qualified, unorganized, and/or unprofessional.

Most awful doctor I ever seen. Thinks he knows it all. Doesn't know your medical history, doesn't care to and doesn't run any tests. Bad communication issues. Pain mean. Not a caring physician at all. In it for all the wrong reasons.
