Dr Mack is very lacking in bedside manners and compassion for children in chronic and severe pain. We have only been given the standard treatment for migraines, which does nothing when my child has status migraines that last a week or more. I feel like her pain and misery is dismissed and we are often told we just need to wait it out. It’s has affected her life in ways I can’t even describe in words and we get zero empathy from him. When I push for help he retaliates in a childish manner. I am transferring my daughter to a different provider who has empathy and cares. He may be the “best” migraine specialist in the world but I do NOT see that at all. I have not had one single positive interaction with him over the years but we remained in his care since it’s not easy to get into neurology and I wanted to stay consistent. Not anymore.

Dr Mack is an extremely experienced and caring doctor. My daughter has chronic migraines and we went to see Dr Mack after trying many unsuccessful treatment options. Dr Mack had several medication options we hadn’t tried as well as several that did not require medication. My daughter was extremely positive and hopeful after our visit, and is already experiencing some relief. I would definitely recommend Dr Mack.

My daughter has seen Dr. Mack for 5 years since age 8 for New Daily Persistent Headache and Chronic Daily Headache. He is very knowledgeable in this area and told us what to expect and helped manage the pain. I am very grateful to Dr. Mack for helping my daughter. There are few neurologists that will accept pediatric patients with NDPH.

Id leave a negative star rating if possible My daughter has Ehlers Danlos a genetic mutation of her collagen/connective tissue. Has had headache for 5+ years every day! Along w/vast neuro symptoms-Mack was dismissive of Eds, told me she was cervically stable based on exam alone-& indicated he was "agnostic" to Ehlers-"something geneticists play around with"--This type of Dr causes patient suicide??Horrible-Id stay away & never allow a child to be treated or seen by him

Dr. Mack was a life saver for my son. My son had developed severe headaches that would last 20 hours a day and keep him up at night in pain. We took him to Children's Mercy Hospital multiple times. We were told this was chronic pain he was going to have to deal with the rest of his life.. Dr. Mack agreed to see my son. We stayed there 1 week and Dr. Mack diagnosed my son and he along with his colleagues treated my son and we left pain free after being in constant pain for 2 month.

Came to mayo clinic with my 15 year old son searching for answers. Seen dr.Mac. We left with no answers. We were very disappointed and heartbroken. My son did not receive the care that we expected. He was very rude and arrogant and could not answer our questions. Very non sympathetic. We spent alot of money and time to go to mayo clinic and left very hurt and disappointed. Do not recommend dr.Mac at all!

Dr Mack talked respectfully, and requested input from my 14 year old relative to her wishes, in managing her seizure disorder. I felt that he treated her very well in the three visits that we have had with him. After a medication reaction, upon calling the Mayo switchboard, I received a call back from Dr Mack at 6:30 on a Saturday night. I do not know if he was on call or not, but I sure appreciated him being available to us at that time.

When we came to the Mayo, it was because of the warm promise of cross-collaboration and patient-friendly attitude. Dr. Mack is abrupt, condescending, and doesn't connect with children, even though he works in pediatrics. We were highly disappointed in the care that we received from Dr. Mack, and wish I had visited HealthGrades before going.
