I'm honestly shocked by these other reviews. I've had about 5 or 6 psychiatrists throughout my life and none have been as good as Dr. Macintyre. All the others I saw basically had the personality of a bag of dry oatmeal and were so clinical that I felt like I was just another number to them instead of a person. This is the first psychiatrist I've had that I felt like truly cared. I've been with him for several years and hope to keep him as my psych for as long as possible. Not only does he care, but his knowledge is outstanding. We tried several non-traditional medications for my treatment-resistant condition, which I don't think other psychs would know about. He seems up to date on current research. He was supportive when I decided to try a different route and was understanding when I wanted to try psych meds again. He worked with me for 3 years to finally find a medication that works. I'm just so surprised by the other reviews. Easily a 10 out of 10 doc in my opinion.

Beware!
Telehealth
Dr. Macintyre alienates all of his patients. It's too bad because he's actually a good doctor. He's just very petty. He forgot to refill my prescriptions on our last appointment before I moved out of the area. I called to get the refills and he was annoyed by that because he felt I should already have a new doctor. So he refused to write them, even though I was a current patient with valid insurance. I was advised by his staff to 'go to Urgent Care to get a prescription'. I'm pretty sure that violates the basic oath you take to become a doctor, denying someone healthcare to make a point.

Worst doctor I've ever seen.
Dr. Macintyre was more than 15 minutes late for my first visit and blamed his staff for not informing him of my arrival. During that visit, he minimized my difficulties and provided a reductive analysis of my mental illness. He said that my previous failures to stick with medications suggested that medication simply wasn't for me and told me to take a supplement called NAC. During my second visit, he arrived late again and was still reviewing a genetic test sent 2 months before. He again blamed his staff (my therapist) for not telling him it had arrived. I tried to explain that my previous failures with medication were the result of not being believed about side effects from SSRI and SNRI medications, an assertion that was supported by my genetic test, and he flat-out denied that the results of the test were valid, despite them being paid for by Medicaid and ordered by the organization that employs him. He is the worst healthcare provider I've ever seen.

This is the worst doctor you will ever visit. He does not care about his patients. He schedules video call during Coronavirus lockdown with patients who cannot figure out video call. He hung up on the patient's brother without trying to get hold of the patient. He gives 50 pills to schizophrenic patients thinking that some pills will work cause he cannot figure out what medication worked for my sister. A physician assistant from Coalition of Homeless in Denver was able to figure out medication for my sister. and this osteopathic psychiatrist cannot figure out what medicine works for my sister. If you get McIntyre, you know, you will not be in good hands.

*MONSTERS* The first appointment I notified HIM That I had severe anxiety problems one Cancer going back to 2003. That I had been taking 1mg of Klonopin twice a day for 15 years. Yes I was STABLE before seeing HIM. HE IMMEDIATELY TOLD ME THAT HE WILL NOT PRESCRIBE KLONOPIN. He told me I could just quit kLONOPIN COLD TURKEY. Horrified by this I asked to speak with the Clinic Abministrator, Steve Fisher who is in reality a Patient Coordinator. (MISREPRESENTATION) Notified me to go ELSEWHERE....
