I was put into one of his experiments without my consent. I was not treated as human by him or the 15 people watching and joking during this test. Turns out the results of his experiment on me matted nothing to my REAL providers! I was just a science fair project to him. The consequences it caused harmed my discharge process after surgery. He is not a good leader and people walked all over me at my expense. 2 unsupervised students did the sane procedure again. Just a piece of meat and not a person. Wish he had left me alone and let my providers do my care. Just interfered with my care. Very unprofessional behavior. Really wish he had been on vacation that day.

In November of 2016 at the UVA hospital in Charlottesville VA Dr Liu cleaned out my left carotid artery thus saving my life. The artery was over 75% blocked and I had just experienced a TIA/Mini Stroke. My recovery was/is full and uneventful. Dr Liu was greatly respected by his peers and the Charlottesville community

I justcalled to make an appointment for my 5 year checkup only to find out that dr. Liu is not longer at Hershey.I’m scared to death because he saved my life in 2013 from a golf ball sized aneurysm in my right eye vein.Without his expertise I wouldn’t be writing this as it was ready to blow and I would have died or had major stoke. Wherever you are, god bless you for all the lives you have saved and I will miss you.

Initially thought he was a God. Then I learned, he's not. But he forgets that. He was careless and caused a medical mistake with catastrophic consequences.

He is an innovative in surgery and willing to take on patients no other doctor will take on. However there are sometimes unforeseen side effects but that is what comes with being at the forefront. I will miss seeing him at Penn State Hershey medical center and I wish him well wherever he ends up.

Dr Liu saved my life. He is the most compassionate caring surgeon I have ever come across. He gave me my life back and no words will ever be enough to show him how grateful I truly am to him. He placed a stent that correct my blood flow in my brain and I have felt completely alive since. Thank you. You are truly amazing.

I was amazed at how quickly I was able to get an appointment. He spent an hour with my wife and I at the initial appointment. He asked us numerous times if we had questions. When he said the next step was a surgical test, I was afraid it would be months. He said he would do it in less than a week. He is fantastic as is his entire staff!

Straight forward approach to the serious procedure I am about to have with him. He instantly generated trust with his frankness and confidence yet compassionate approach. He took lots of time to explain it to me and he set back and waited for me to stare at the images and think of more questions when most Dr. would have used the silence to dismiss themselves. While I am not looking forward to the procedure I am confident in the surgeon I have chosen. Kristi on his staff is also great.

Dr. Liu is amazing. He knows what he can do and what he can't do and is conservative in doing unnecessary tests or treatment. He took a chance on me and I'm so glad to have found him. He genuinely cares about his patients and personally followed up with me for weeks after post op. His staff are also great and go out of their way to help you and make your appointments as easy as possible.
