Absolutely Love Dr. Hood!
Dr. Hood has done 3 surgeries on me and I would recommend him in a heartbeat. He is a very popular doctor and prefers to be in Goodyear however he does have an office in Glendale at the Arrowhead Abrazo Hospital and Campus. His staff is amazing and work so well with each other. Even when I was having difficulties with a wound doctor, Dr. Hood saw me personally the next day and had me on my way, all healed within 3 weeks. I trust him and would trust him with my family and friends. Thank you Dr. Hood and everyone who works with him. You are a blessing!

Dr Hood & his staff are AMAZING!
I had multiple issue surgery and had expected complication with swallowing and speaking. It took the hospital 11 days to decide to insert a feeding tube. Dr Hoods staff came in everyday. Dr Hood himself came to see me 3 times. They were able to coordinate and expedite my care even though it was not their area.

Surgery Error
I went to Abrazo West Campus Hospital on 9/19/22 for an outpatient spinal stimulator implant surgery with Dr. Hood performing a routine surgery. I was told that this procedure would take 1 ½ hours and after some brief recovery time, I would be going home to complete my recovery. When I awakened that afternoon, I was in an extreme amount of pain in my right thigh and groin area. This was unexpected pain and Dr. Hood ordered a Cat Scan immediately to see what might be the cause of my pain. After the Cat Scan, he noticed, according to what he told me, that the spinal stimulator was placed in the wrong area along my spine. Upon discovering that the spinal stimulator was placed incorrectly, he performed an additional surgery the next day to correct what was done the day before. I was not aware that I would be admitted into the hospital with rehab following and because of that, I lost money from a job I had and time that is now dedicated to physical therapy.

after spinal fusion surgery i was experiencing extreme pain in the lumbar area. i told hood and his LPN immediately but they instantly went defensive and said it couldn't have been their fault. they told me to see a neurologist who after 1 sentence describing the pain told me it was certainly spinal fluid leakage. after telling hood that, he scoffed at the diagnosis. yet they got me a rush MRI appt. that evening, the next morning the office called and said i needed to go to the hospital for surgery to repair the hole in the spinal canal cover ( the dura)and remove what ever was causing a large swelling next to the spine. they left me in excruciating pain for over 3 months because they ignored my description of the pain.

Absolutely thee best care and treatment anyone could ask for! After a serious car accident Dr. Hood and his staff fused my c1-c4 vertebras and save my life. He and his staff were compassionate, answered all of our questions, and in general took their time with us. We were people, not a number. Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Hood and his entire team.

Dr. Hood was very thorough and patient with me and explained things in a way that I understood. I liked the fact that he had my MRI displayed on a screen for me to see. A couple of prior doctors that I saw at a facility other than Abrazo didn't show me xrays or MRI pictures. They kept them in another room and I sat there wondering how do I know what he is telling me is really my problem.

I was so fortunate to have Dr. Hood perform surgery on me after I flipped my golf cart in August 2017. I was taken to Banner Trauma Center. Dr. Hood operated on my lower back. It was one of the best days of my life. He was so kind and caring. I now enjoy my active life just like I did before my accident. I am so grateful to Dr. Hood and his entire staff.

Staff rude, unhelpful and uninterested in helping patients. My wife suffered a broken neck and was referred by UMC for a follow up appointment with Dr. Hood. Only the day before the appointment did it emerge that they wouldn't work with our insurance, leaving my wife without the follow up care she needed. Wouldn't tell us how much the appointment would cost until after the appointment. Wouldn't help to find another doctor. Don't understand patients are customers.
