Thanks for permanent nerve damage
Dr. Akizuki completely misdiagnosed a fracture, putting my wife in a cast when the bones were misaligned (he neglected to ask for a side view X-ray), he did not listen at all when my wife explained that she was in an increasing amount of pain each day, and his office was incredibly unresponsive (not returning calls is never acceptable in this field). We had emergency surgery yesterday at Stanford (which involved rebreaking the bone and inserting a plate) and we hope to be on the path for full recovery, although the nerve damage may never be reversed. The maddening part is that my wife's description of her symptoms were an excellent clue as to the real problem - Dr. Akizuki could only respond that my wife must have a pain syndrome that is ill-defined at best rathering than looking deeper into the source of the pain.My father was a doctor - this was very fair from a reasonable standard of care.

Destroyed my shoulder by performing a ligament tightening procedure. We agreed to do labral repair. You wanted to tighten the ligaments. I was very clear that you could do the labral repair and not the procedure to tighten the ligaments. While I was under anesthesia, you did the labral repair. You also did the ligament-tightening procedure. This ruined my shoulder. I have been living in pain and discomfort for five years. I would pay any amount of money to undo what you did.

He’s the best, I recommend him to anyone I know who needs to see an orthopedic surgeon, especially if it’s a knee issue. If you are active or an athlete, he respects your desire to continue being active and provides recommendations with that in mind. He explains in detail what is going on and what options there are to fix it and will help alleviate any pain and discomfort in the meantime with quick treatments in the office. I’ve been seeing him 15+ years and will see him again if the need arises.

He really is that good. He made sure to come to the hospital the day after my shoulder replacement surgery. Checked on the scar and changed the dressing. He took quite a bit of time with my husband and me, explaining the procedure and was equally attentive and informative at the post-op appointment. His office is busy, but well worth the wait.
