Don’t catch him on a bad day!
Hopefully you do not catch him on a bad day! Perhaps he doesn’t like active patients to be worked in. You will pay the price. Note we are all entitled to a second opinions. Don’t be mistreated ! You have the option to seek help elsewhere.

Neglect
Follow up to my initial review. Dr. Scrantz diagnosed my dad with a benign brain tumor. 25 days later my dad passed from the most malignant brain cancer (Glioblastoma). It’s been almost a month since he passed and we have yet to be contacted by Dr. Scrantz’s office following his incorrect diagnosis. It’s mind blowing that a well-known, very experienced Neurosurgeon could be so wrong about what he saw on a scan. I was told I’d be contacted within 48 hours of writing a review. That was weeks ago. Still holding onto hope that they make it right somehow.

Dr. Scrantz and his staff were very professional and accommodating. My questions were answered clearly and understandably for a non-medical lay person. My procedure went very well and the follow up visit was a great experience as well. It was definitely worth the drive to Baton Rouge for his service and skill set

I met Dr. Scrantz as a terrified 18 year old having a massive stroke. I literally woke up to him inches from my face during my first evaluation upon arriving at the hospital Memphis TN. He was 1 of 3 neurologists assigned to me. He was my only Dr. who was prepared to really dig into why I was having the problem I was. Thanks to him I was correctly diagnosed with 2 blood disorders and an autoimmune disorder which allowed me to avoid many future issues with my health. I quite literally owe my life to Dr. Scrantz!! Excellent bedside manner, highly intelligent and actually cares about his patients!!!

I was on medication for pinched nerve in my neck, which was no longer effective. Dr. Scrantz did a neck fusion, which completely solved that problem. Once off the medication, we found out it was also treating issues with my lower back. Dr. Scrantz tried everything he could to avoid surgery, but after waiting the appropriate amount of time, and making no promises, he did surgery again. I am excited to say that too worked. Evidently, the culprit was bone spurs!

Brain tumor which was like sticking your hand in a pile of snakes. Poor prognosis and high risk. High profile case with lots watching and Dr. Scrantz went in, scalpel flying, and got 99% out. Courageous and skilled. Needs a sixth star!
