my GP for over 20 years
Telehealth
from the perspective of over 20 years of being cared for by this doctor, my wife and I are very satisfied with our relationship with our GP, Dr. Kela Henry. However, there have been several instances of extreme frustration with this group of people (Emory Buford) regarding having my prescriptions refilled. Our pharmacists informed us that at some point during 2023, communication with Emory Buford office for prescription refills was 'not a productive process' any longer. For the record, I can say that my repeated requests (approx.10) via phone calls and portal communication with Emory Healthcare My Charts portal went unanswered from late September to December 29th when I had a Telemed appointment with Dr. Henry. She immediately sent in the refill and appologized and explained there certainly were many problems within her office that she had to address. Buy that time I had an appointment with another Doctor, and received there care immediately. Something is VERY WRONG @ Emory Buford

She intentionally ignores her patients
This doctor and her staff intentionally ignores my communications for a basic request for a specific medical testing. Just unprofessional. They eventually called me on the phone, might I add, in a condescending tone, to ask me why I wanted the testing. Once I gave reasoning, she said she would be in touch and never spoke to me again. I asked multiple times for her to give me some sort of answer to my request, but I am still currently being ignored. Furthermore, she referred me to another doctor, which end up being the wrong type of doctor that I needed and I ended up being charged for that visit after not being helped at all. I asked her to handle this since SHE referred me to the doctor, and to make sure I was not charged but she did not. I would definitely say she does not go the extra mile for her patients as one would like or hope. I had to remove her as my primary care doctor Because she is obviously, just therefore a check. This review is also for her medical staff.

Dr. Henry is pleasant and thorough, however, the office wait time is at least an hour for any visit. The office is disorganized and slow. Getting in for a sick visit is out of the question, as it takes days to get in. We always have to go to Urgent Care.

No direct contact with the office all calls go through a separate line, and making an appointment the person asked very detail questions for before making an appointment or leaving a message for the doctor to call you. It also make take days for the doctor to get back to you and a week if the doctor has to refer to a specialist. So going for a sick visit is out of the questions.
