Dr. Kathryn Schoenbrod, MD

Dr Schoenbrod was helpful and patient. She listens and is knowledgeable about medications. She has often suggested medicine, vitamins and other ways for me to improve. I have never felt pressured by her and have improved because of her kind and genuine nature.

I have been in healthcare for 30+years, and I’ve seen it all. I’ve worked with and for physicians for that many years. I’ve never met anyone who was so intelligent, so kind, so compassionate and so responsive. She genuinely cares about me as her patient, and wants what’s best for me. I HIGHLY recommend her. 10 stars on a scale of 1-5 stars. She’s such a breath of fresh air in this challenging healthcare world.

I wish I had thought about looking up reviews for this Dr. this was my first time seeing a psychiatrist. I didn't know what to expect. With just the first consultation she diagnosed me and prescribed medication. She didn't even take the time to talk about side effects. When I asked if this is medication I can stop she said that there is no saying at this point, despite that being my biggest concern. Fast forward to our most recent appointment, she makes a comment about politics as a jab to me. She does not take the time to listen to her patients.

I've been seeing Dr. Schoenbrod for about two years. She's super understanding, patient, and considerate - great doctor!

Saw her a few times and disliked her. In the 1st appointment, she got frustrated by my long history and started to rush me for time. Was cold, curt, and would interrupt me and correct me all the time. Did not seem interested in getting to know me as a patient, mixed me up with another patient, only saw me for 10 minutes in follow-ups. Talks way too fast and is very pushy. No empathy. Was never on time. Felt like I was on a conveyor belt and just a number. Moving on!

She's judgmental and very focused on weight.

My daughter was seeing her. Schoenbrod was arrogant and condescending. Eager to medicate, but not willing to listen to parents when they had concerns or questions. I really was disappointed in her lack of empathy or ability to communicate to the patient. I would not recommend her to anyone and would be very careful staying with her. Their are so many good psychiatrist out there but unfortunately the good ones don't take insurance and are very expensive.

I found Dr Schoenbrod eager to medicate and not so willing to listen to concerns regarding medication.

Doesn't pay attention to what you are telling her. When I needed to go back on an anti-depressant right away she was walking out the door and said that will take 6 weeks to work! Never have I had a Dr make a comment like that one. Still don't know what she meant when I will need to be on it a couple years. I have been off and on them most of my life and I know when I need to go back on them. She took 8 weeks to get me up to 20mg of Lexapro which was ridiculous. Would never go back/recommend.
