Dr. Kathryn Mize, MD

I've been talking ng my children to Dr. K. Mize for 5 years now and overall she is really good. She focuses on treating through diet or lifestyle changes and doesn't suggest or over prescribe medication or antibiotics. She is a little dry but she answers all of my questions and gets the answers I need for my kids if she isn't sure. I also have one toddler with ASD and she's very consistent in watching his sensory needs and getting referrals to the appropriate specialists. We couldn't ask for a better pediatrician

My visit with Dr. Mize was not very good. I had a scheduled appointment with the office and had to wait two hours before being seen. In addition, Dr. Mize prescribed many prescriptions for my superficial strep throat infection. The seven medications were way too many and could have easily been treated with one or two. After my visit, I decided to switch providers due to the horrible visit. In summary, I would not recommend Dr. Mize as a healthcare provider.

If I could give her a 0/5, I would. Treated my SIL as if she was a bad mother because her newborn baby got something on his outfit and she didn't have another outfit for him as this was their first outing and she's a brand new mom. Yelled at her for not having him gained enough weight, even though he has put on 3 oz 2 days out of the hospital already. Overall, rude, clearly uneducated on current practices, and unprofessional. Would not recommend whatsoever.

The nurse was nice. But the front office staff seem I competent. Dr. Mize was very mean and rude. I will NEVER EVER go back. Rating is less than 1

Would never recommend her and never going back. She blew me off when it came to my newborn's symptoms of choking and reflux pain. She said there was nothing she could do. Got a second opinion- my daughter is on thickened formula/milk and Zantac. Dr Mize just has her checklist and doesn't take time- felt very rushed. I left that office several times in tears. She has the sweetest staff and nurse though.
