Visits don't leave much time to discuss concerns
I have seen Dr. Hogan many times. She gave great prenatal care and delivered my babies before her practice stopped doing deliveries. I have-and probably still will--recommend her to others. I am not enthusiastic about seeing her for women's health screenings though. I think in part due to insurance/billing reasons (no copay needed for prevention/screening visit, but copay may be required if other things addressed), I always feel like she is a bit annoyed if I have any questions or concerns beyond just getting the routine pap smear and breast exam done, even if I wrote it on the little questionnaire they have you fill out before being called (which basically discourages patients from asking questions by reminding them that if anything but routine screening is discussed, that might mean there is an extra charge). Would be nice though to feel free to briefly mention how a couple ongoing issues are going, without feeling that she thinks that is a waste of her time to discuss such things.

My visit with Dr. Hogan was the first time I had been to a gynecologist and it was very traumatizing. She did not care how much pain I was in and rolled her eyes at not being able to complete the pap smear. She did not explain anything about birth control she was prescribing. She told me that if I had that much pain during the appointment then I would not enjoy sex at all. Horrible bedside manner. I will never be returning and strongly recommend not to visit this office.

I've visited Dr. Hogan 4 times for my annual checkup. I've referred multiple friends and family members to her as she is usually very quick and women to women schedules quickly. My last visit will be my last visit. Dr. Hogan has horrible bedside manner. She doesn't care about pain, and does not know her patients. Each visit I have to remind her about who I am and what I do, which is embarrassing really. Dr. Hogan failed to call me when I had an abnormal result and just put it on the portal.

Dr. Hogan had terrible bedside manner. I felt uncomfortable and shamed for multiple reasons, including the fact that my pap smear was painful. She did not try to make me more comfortable or relaxed during.
