She really listened and understood my fears about taking medicine. She explained why she thought it was needed and also helped me talk about my other experiences that made it hard to try again. Now I am doing well and appreciate her help.

The meeting with this psychiatrist was stilted and awkward. She gave me memory tests consisted of remembering two words and a street address, waiting 5-10 minutes of distracted conversation, and then asking me to recall the words and address. When I failed to remember anything beyond the street name the first time, she repeated the test. She also asked me to count down from 100 all the way down by subtracting increments of seven. She said this was to test my math skills.

Dr. Gallentine is punctual and thorough. My initial intake appointment was not rushed and I felt that she had a clear understanding of my issues prior to prescribing medications. My med check follow-ups are also thorough and I feel confident that the medications are right for me. Dr. Gallentine also gave me a referral for a therapist. It was an excellent match and I believe that she was able to make that recommendation because she understood my needs.
