my moms esophageal cancer part 2
That was the day my mother, who was a Christian and very confident gave up. From that day, she went downhill. The feeding tube just kept pouring blood and we had to take my mother to the hospital where she was later sent home on hospice. When we told moms story to the hospice, they told us this isn’t the first time with Ostapoff doing something like this. My mother’s feeding tube was infected from the start & oozing liquid. Ostapoff never once tried to fix the situation. I’m hoping to spread awareness for what Ostapoff did to my mother by leaving this review. Someone seriously needs to do some background checks and digging on her. For several people inside and outside the hospital to say similar things says a lot. I would post pictures of my mothers wound site but i have not looked at those pictures since she passed and i dont want her to be remembered that way

I like and respect Dr. Ostapoff. I have had a very positive experience with her & her team. I feel like she took the time to listen and answer all of my questions. She performed a lumpectomy on me that was a very smooth procedure with no complications. Additionally, her office staff are very kind and responsive— I’ve corresponded with Nurse Sheri many times through the MyChart portal. I highly recommend Dr. Ostapoff and her office.

Consultation with Dr. O was clear and to the point in dealing with husbands pancreatic cancer. After a full explanation, drawing of the Whipple and the what if’s answered, she took time to answer our questions. We were looking for a connection with this surgeon. I can say, so far, she and her staff meet our needs. Very anxious time and she was reassuring.

My dad has been seeing her. He has stage 4 stomach cancer and she put his feeding tube. He had his first chemo treatment and when he had his appointment with her he asked if they could up his nutrition to get some weight on him and strength for his treatments. Her response was “that’s not going to make a difference because you aren’t going to live that much longer”. This is the first doctor to express that to him. He knows it’s bad, but her words floored him and took the wind out of his sails. That was cruel and unprofessional. If you’re looking for a doctor who will advocate for you and not just write you off as a lost cause, she IS NOT the doctor for you.
