Dr Jelinek is an excellent doctor
I looked up Dr Jelinek to recommend her to a friend and I saw some negative reviews and I had to respond. Dr Jelinek performed two colonoscopies within a three day span on me. (long story, don’t ask) Before that, she diagnosed my wife with a tumor that was successfully removed by a general surgeon. We both found her to be honest, straightforward and an excellent diagnostician and physician. She is a straight shooter and will not let you go down the path of an online diagnosis no matter how much you think it applies to you. We really appreciated her expertise and experience. We found her to be a great listener and her personality really meshed with ours. I think that she deserves a much higher rating than what is shown on this website,

One of the best doctors
Dr. Jelinek is by far the best doctor I have ever encountered. I have been to Johns Hopkins, the Cleveland Clinic, and Mayo. She possesses that rare combination of brilliant clinical acumen while having such a warm and comfortable bedside manner. I recommend her without reservations whatsoever.

If I could give negative stars it would be -10. I wish I would have read the reviews before I went for my visit last fall. Like others, she did not want to listen to me about my symptoms, prescribed Rx I said I did not want to take with out some testing first. Suggested therapy to help with the bowels thru NWM specialist downtown, but could not describe what the therapy consists of, rather she said, “I’m not the specialist, I have no idea what they do”. How do you recommend a therapy and have no idea what it entails, It’s baffling. So here we are 6 months later, still not feeling well and will not go to anyone in her practice, even though they are 5 minutes from my home. I’m going to try another doctor in a different hospital system just to avoid Dr Jelinek and her practice. Very sad and everything stated is absolutely true. Avoid this doctor.

The worst doctor that I've ever seen. Ignored all the signs of a very serious genetic progressive disease & tried to push me to do invasive testing on an entirely unrelated health problem. She insulted me when I declined. I saw her in the ED while having a health crisis a few yrs ago. Upon asking my history, she cut me off & started yelling at me that she was only asking about today & not my entire hx. I since found that she made DEMEANING, false, & catastrophically damaging statements about me in my record. I don't know why as never had an issue with the dozens of other physicians that I've seen. I was out of work due to health at the time & Jelinek told me I was "fine" & that I should get a job when I was in fact very ill & now disabled. She also remarked the same about my disabled mom. I'm an adult, but my mom had come with me for support. Esp as my mom is a retired RN. Avoid Jelinek at all costs. She is CRUEL, on a power trip, & will play with your life. Lost years because of her.

Upon experiencing digestive problems, I scheduled an endoscopy with Dr. Jelinek. To say I had a negative experience would be an understatement. The first red flag occurred when Dr. Jelinek attempted to explain what she saw in the procedure as I was waking up from my anesthesia. Once I later got my test results, everything appeared normal but she refused to schedule a call with me to discuss other possibilities or routes to address my symptoms. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. Zero stars if I could.

Terrible experience. Very bad bedside manner, did not care to hear about any of the symptoms or discomfort I was having. Previous doctors had suggested that I see her due to a potential ulcer. She performed an endoscopy and said that "nothing was wrong and that I just need to simply stop worrying" to a patient that has had anxiety disorders for 15 years. Very dismissive and would not recommend to anyone. If I could put 0 stars, I would.

I did not have my prep called into the pharmacy. The day before the procedure I had to call their office to get orders sent to my pharmacy however, their main line is never answered. When I finally got ahold of someone she apologized and stated they are really short staffed. When I met Dr Jelinek I had stated that my mother recently had cancer. Her response was “oh did she die.” I had a test done and I was called stating I needed to follow up with a surgeon but apparently my test was normal.

Was very abrupt and did not wish to hear anything about what I was experiencing. Said she "knew what was wrong and what to do" before I could even explain my symptoms. Did not try to explain the procedure that she would be performing and made it quite clear that my appointment was an inconvenience in her day. Would not recommend her.

I have no idea why folks would try to malign such a good doctor...anonymous spiteful posts that seem to be the same person even. Dr. Jelinek was caring, thoughtful and considerate. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about her, and have sent several of my friends to see her as well. They have all said the same thing--she does a great job.

Terrible. Extremely rude. Cut me off every time I tried to speak (and thought I was lying??). Literally would not listen to me explain the strenuous and debilitating symptoms that I experience every single day; and instead of offering me any physically guidance, she suggested I see a psychologist. You are better off going to no doctor than to this doctor.

It was shocking to hear that this Dr. could be in the area of gastro as she recommended - even after my disagreement that my body would tolerate such sugar-laden and unhealthy things as Gatorade. Then she suggested Crystal Lite which has aspartamine in it. Also an unhealthy recommendation. I am cancelling have her do a procedure and would not recommend her.
