No help for lyme disease
I have to say that I'm very disappointed in the medical community in general. After seeing four specialists the only one who has been able to help me was a nurse practitioner at a lyme disease clinic. I came in for a test and voiced my concerns about possible neurological problems with my EYES for Heavens sake, buzzing throughout my forehead and twitching all over my body. I was told that this was not a 'regular' office visit and that I'm only here for a test. I explained that I was diagnosed with lyme disease and possible co-infections based on positive markers and all my symptoms. Well, the next available 'office visit' wasn't available for six months! I was told 'this isn't my area.' It seems strange to me that Lyme can affect your nervous system, muscles and joints and every doctor I have seen says 'it's not my area!' Well tell me then, WHO'S AREA IS IT?' This disease is widely ignored and dismissed and I think doctors need to make it their area. Lyme is real. HELP US.
