Ruined my Dad's life.
My Dad had a moes procedure done with an incomplete resection. Despite going back for multiple appointments, his concerns were ignored by Vance. He developed two tumors inside the skull, one attached to the brain, and metastatic disease. He is permanently disfigured now with no use of the left eye. He recently suffered status epilepticus and almost did not recover. He now has to be on lifelong medications with side effects. Do not go to this guy. NOONE should die of skin cancer.

Dr. Vance is listed under service providers for Tricare Reserve Select (insurance for military). After making an appointment via the number provided on my health providers list, they called me back and said that I have to make the appointment directly with the location and canceled. When I spoke with his office, they told me that he does not accept Tricare (very snippy with me). When I called Tricare back, they told me that it is his offices responsibility to update insurance companies when they stop accepting. Verify that they accept your insurance as they clearly are not updating the systems required.

Appointment was very rushed and I didn’t feel like he did a thorough inspection of moles, skin, etc. Basically just glanced at everything and was done in less than 3 minutes. I’ve had other dermatologists take this annual exam far more seriously and give pertinent and specific feedback. The $75 specialist copay I had for the appt was a joke considering how little time was spent.

Dr. Vance may be a good doctor. But when I saw him for growths on my face, he was rushed, did not explain what he was doing and did not listen. I said I had a family wedding shortly. He removed for biopsy the spot/growth on my cheek and I left with a hole (!) in my face. Had he been listening, he might have explained how I would look and if it could possibly wait until after the event. I think he made a decision that a woman my age is beyond worrying about looks. Did not manage expectations well
