Dr. Gupta herself was fine, and I do not dislike my experience with her specifically. However, your office's contact system is byzantine and infuriating. Just scheduling the first appointment through the phone tree took an hour. Then, after my initial appointment and CT scan, I awaited my results. The office called me, presumably to share results, but I was unable to answer due to work. I called the number back within five minutes, and couldn't make contact with a single person in the office, despite trying every option on the phone tree and spending 30 total minutes on hold only to be cut off. I even left a voicemail on Lori's phone (the hospital had to give me the number), and three hours later, the voicemail still wasn't responded to. It's insane that the initial caller didn't leave a voicemail indicating what my next steps should be or providing a direct number to the office that bypassed the convoluted phone tree that doesn't appear to work.

She is very good at explaining different scenarios and treatment options in plain terms and takes the time to listen. I never feel rushed and I feel like my health is important to her.She always does little drawings for me to help the explanation, which I love.

The smile on the doctor's face when she walked in. Like a red sunshine. Very thorough and you knew what she was doing. I really enjoyed my visit. I don't say that about a lot of doctors. Trust me I have a few.

I saw Dr. Gupta based on a friend's recommendation and after watching her profile video, where she described positive patient outcome as her motivation for pursuing urology. She communicated clearly, made me feel comfortable about the options and treatments she was recommending, and answered my questions patiently.It's possible some men may feel awkward about a female urologist, but at 55 I have had several urologists and she proved to be my best experience in this, admittedly, sensitive area of medicine for men. I'm glad to establish this relationship with her as my physician and hopeful her and her husband choose to remain in Birmingham.
