Talented and attentive
I first saw Dr Samara, ~8-9 yrs ago for ptosis repair. He is very knowledgeable and is now treating me for uveitis. I feel I'm in very good hands with Dr Samara and his colleagues at the Atlantic Eye Specialist practice.

Dismissive when having a problem
I saw Dr Samara for cataract surgery. That went well but the drops given before and after surgery for many days cause severe side effects. I experienced inability to sleep and unbearable restless lag and arm. I checked the ingredients on the bottle and it was prednisone. I did not know this. The label was covered up. I absolutely cannot take prednisone. I called the office to see if there is an alternative drop that I could be switched to. I was treated very dismissively. The doctor apiece (thru his assistant) some redivulous suggestions Basically I was told to just suck it up. I still have one cataract surgery to go and will certainly speak to Dr Samara again but I don’t expect a different response. It was very very curt, short and unhelpful.

Dismissive – May 10, 2024

I was diagnosed and treated for a bacterial condition and was given eye drops. I was also told that I had a stye that hurt like h*ll when he pressed on it. I was only told to use the drops until the follow-up but I found out from the follow-up doctor that I should have been using warm compresses - something Dr. Samara neglected to mention. Also, the new doctor gave me an ointment for the stye. The eye drops that Dr. Samara gave me were expensive (I was given a tiny sample, too) and I called to ask for a generic or a different medication. His assistant, Lisa, was incredibly rude and dismissive and asked why I was asking for another medication. Apparently, she didn't listen to the message I left.

Dr. Samara performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes. I opted for the more expensive multi-focal lenses. He and his staff were thorough and clear in explaining my options and the procedures. Almost 6 months and a dozen appointments later, I now have 20/20 vision and I'm completely satisfied with the entire experience. I heartily endorse Dr. Samara and his entire practice.

I can see again. 5 stars isn't enough for Dr. Samara. The service, kindness, patience and all the info given leaves you feeling comforted and safe. I was nervous, this would be my 3rd & 4th surgery for my eyes(One eye at a time). Dr. Samara explained everything, gave me options and answered all my questions with clear answers. His surgery team was also polite, precise and heart warming. I was able to get through both surgeries without any anxiety. Your in great hands with Dr. Samara. God bless

I had such an amazing experience with Dr Karim Samara at Atlantic Eye Institute, Jacksonville, Florida . He removed a traditional cataract on my 69 yr old amblyoptic eye. The next day postop I could not just see out of this eye but tested to have 20/40 vision!! This was so unexpected and truly a surprise by Dr Samara. This result has been life changing and a welcomed miracle. I'm looking forward to the normal right eye cataract removal next week. Thank you Dr Samara! ??
