Clearly Not Paying Attention
She told me she could not see any cause for my pain. Then two months later I went to an orthopedic surgeon who said I need my knee and both hips replaced. Then saw a back doctor who told me i have severe spinal stenosis and scoliosis. Dr. Nelson told me I don’t have scoliosis which I have had since childhood. She couldn’t pull up my films while in the appointment with her. So she must have winged I think.

She was always late, rushed, and distracted. She often urged me to do the research because she did not have time to answer my questions. She required a lot of paperwork before each appointment which she never referenced. I always left feeling defeated and frustrated.

Dr. Nelson interrupted me throughout my appointment. I felt that she wasn't interested in what I had to say about decisions about my healthcare. Her manner is abrasive and brusque. She even called me by the wrong name as she had another patient's chart open on her laptop. Dr. Nelson is new to Alaska and to my primary care clinic. I hope she changes things to better serve Alaska's patients.
