Dr. Kostroff is the most caring and knowledgeable Dr. I’ve ever dealt with. The surgery went great and all was explained to me prior and her follow up is easy and the office staff is just great and so helpful. Cannot say enough positive things!! Being diagnosed with cancer is scary enough and Dr. Kostroff and her office staff just makes it all so much easier to deal with and their compassion is off the charts. Thank you all for making a truly horrible experience that much easier.

Disappointing encounter with office staff
I called today to schedule a first time consultation. I told the office staff, Jackie, that I just received the news that I have breast cancer and I wanted to check if they take my insurance. She answered very rudely saying that they do not take insurance. When I asked her to explain, she said I have to pay everything out of pocket and they will check with the insurance later. I said thank you, but I don’t have this money in advance and she hung up in my face. This was very disappointing and not the way that anyone should be treated.

Dr. Kostroff gives a good first impression, however if you are interested in getting more information or statistics this doctor is not for you. The office staff gives out treatment info that is incorrect and the doctor sugar coats treatment options and does not give a realistic picture of what’s going on. During COVID when family is not allowed to stay Dr. Kostroff does not feel it necessary to call a family member to update them after surgery and instead tells the patient how it went, despite them being confused and groggy from anesthesia and should not be expected to understand. She does not call the patient after surgery to check up on her and does not answer questions adequately. I do not recommend this doctor or her office to anyone.

I was just diagnosed with infiltrating lobular carcinoma. I believe that I deserve a great doctor. I have very good insurance, except that this doctor doesn't take insurance, so I guess she only treats the rich. $266 just for the consultation.

Dr. Kostroff saved my 25 year old, daughter’s life. Two doctors including a radiologist said my daughters lump was nothing. Dr Kostroff using just her fingers, felt the .5 cm. Lump and knew it was cancer & ordered an immediate biopsy. If it wasn’t for Dr. Kostroff, my daughter wouldn’t be alive today.

My 91 year old mother had a lumpectomy done by Dr. Kostroff on May 30th. If I could give her 10 stars on here, I would. Not only is she an excellent doctor who knows her stuff, she is very kind and compassionate. At the consultation appt before the surgery, she explained everything to us and answered all of our questions and put our minds at ease. The day of the surgery she spoke with us and took wonderful care of my mother. The day after the surgery, my mom was not feeling well at all. It too

I interviewed another breast surgeon for a double mastectomy before I got to Dr Kostroff . He had a great rep on LI, but just didn't feel comfortable with him, or his lion filled office. I am now post op and I can't say enough about how happy I am I went instead with this woman! Although she is practicing for years she hasn't lost her warm touch. Go to her if you are in a position of needing surgery. She will work with you in every way - so don't hesitate to go for that initial consult!
