My child was in the ER. I made a follow up appointment the following day to see her, and to ask why a very simple medicine had not been called in per my request. She came across as smug and had all the excuses in the world for why nobody returned my call. None made sense. A simple apology would have gone a long way. She chose to be defensive. My child is special needs and hasn’t been potty trained yet. She hasn’t met the criteria of readiness to start training hard.. Dr Kern suggested a urine test, and I pointed out why that may be difficult to do at this time. While possibly unintentional, her tone came across as condescending as to why my child isn’t potty trained yet. It was a big turnoff.She is not a good fit for my family, and I particularly don’t appreciate the lack of communication from her as to why calling in albuterol (of all things) was a problem. Lack of good communication is a big deal for me, especially when my child isn’t verbal enough to say what’s wrong. Beware.
