Telehealth
Had a malrotation surgery consult. Where to begin? He was 3.5 hours late to the telehealth appointment (no phone call from his staff to let us know he was running late). He started the conversation by remarking on my cuteness, which is completely inappropriate in a professional work environment. His assistant meekly smiled when he made this remark. Must be par for the course. When questions were asked, such as how his procedure actually works, he repeatedly said 'read my paper on it.' Towards the end of the consult he said 'Is this your last question? I'm getting tired.' As were we. I've never encountered a more condescending doctor in my life. As a patient contemplating an invasive surgical procedure I would rather live with daily symptoms than place my trust and health in his hands.

Professional and Compassionate
My dad was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer early last year. The news was devastating to our family considering my dad’s age (73) and the fact that he has Type 2 diabetes. Dr. Kareem agreed to conduct this surgery with his team at the ALNAS Charity hospital in Cairo.Needless to say, Dr. Kareem’s credentials in conducting the complex Whipple Operation were impeccable. More importantly he was extremely professional and compassionate. He explained the operation in great detail. The surgery was conducted. The day of the surgery was tense, but Dr. Kareem and his team took amazing care of my dad and made sure he was comfortable and relaxed. The surgery was a huge success. We will be forever grateful to Dr. Kareem and his team. My dad is tumor free and his quality of life has significantly improved. Thank you Dr. Kareem for giving my dad a second shot at life and significantly improving his quality of life and greatly increasing his chances for a longer and healthier life!

My consultation was a waste of my time and his. My records were not reviewed. I have bills from individuals who supposedly looked at slides but I was never given any results. Maybe for critical patients this is a good choice. For patients with extensive abdominal surgery it was another dead end with no interest on the provider part. The whole process is misrepresented and nothing more than cashing in on their reputation. Very disappointing.

This MD saved my life. A Liver transplant followed by a colovesical fistula repair. Great sense of humor. I was a Very high risk patient given my co-morbidities. I'll never be able to express how thankful I am for his saving my life. Thank you Dr. Kareem, John
