Find another doctor... anyone else!
Dr. Ajam accepted me as a new patient on the recommendation of my PCP. I met with him & he prescribed a new medication for me. When I tried to reach him 2 weeks later, he was no longer at Carolinas Pain Institute. Seems he accepted me as a new patient and, worse, prescribed a new Rx for me knowing full well that he was leaving. Never mentioned any of this to me, and never let me know he left - I found out when suddenly he was no longer listed in MyChart. Pretty terrible thing to do. Wouldn't trust him at all. Find another doctor - anyone else has to be better!

Dr. Ajam is by far the best Dr. He listens and knows what I’m going through. His recommendation has helped me to be able to sleep now. He doesn’t ever rush my appts. The front desk lady is so friendly. There’s a PA who is rude. I don’t recommend. I would follow Dr Ajam to Ohio if he ever leaves. My nightmares would come back.

Do the next right thing. This is what Dr Ajam did today. After not having seen him at all, but working only through his PA's (which is fine, but no plan of care can be established this way), he came in and apologized nor not having seen me face to face until now. He did not excuse it, nor did he give any reasons, just simply apologized. This is exactly what I needed. With respect to the rest of the appointment, I could not have been more impressed. He laid out a whole litany of options for my particular issue. I now have a clear plan of care, long term to help with my pain, which is a combination of procedures and pain medication. He took as much time as was needed and never gave a hint of not being present, or any sort of mind wandering. He even patiently gave me time to take my own notes at the end. Contrary to other reviews this place is not simply a pill pushing factory. I highly recommend both Dr Ajam and this organization. 5+ stars.

CPI is the BEST. I have been with them for years, nearly 2 decades with the exception of a few years somewhere in that span due to moving. Dr Ajam is sincere, caring, approaches you and your pain with the utmost respect. He has genuine empathy and a sincere desire to help people with real pain conditions. After 5-7 surgeries (I have lost count at this point), I decided no more surgeries and he has offered and performed other treatments with great results. He has worked diligently with me regarding pain medications and procedures, finding the right solution for all my needs. Sarah Reynolds, his PA, is as caring as Dr. Ajam and is great to work with when Dr Ajam is unavailable. I cannot imagine my life without their help.

This doctor is there to help you. He listens intently and really tries to come up with the best solution for your pain. He is compassionate and does not try to impress you with his knowledge. Just a good guy, and a good doctor.

Dr. Ajam is one of the most trusted and respected pain doctors in the Southeast. I have only praise for his way of taking the time to really listen to your concerns and carefully advise you on methods to deal with pain. Instead of advising me to have expensive surgery, which would have benefited him financially, he sent me to a physical bodyworker therapist who turned out to be able to rid me of my back pain. 5 Stars for exceptional care.

Dr. Ajam goes above and beyond in the care of his patients, has excellent bedside manner and never, ever rushes someone through an appointment. He takes the time to learn his patient's needs and asks pointed questions to get at the source of their problems. I would recommend his service, and have on several occasions, to anyone.

I would NEVER recommend Dr. Ajam to my worst enemy. I have been suffering from chronic pain for years. Once visiting this doctor he seemed extremely interested and sent me to a massage therapist. I REQUESTED IBUPROFEN for my pain as I WAS WILLING TO TRY advil and a therapist to help me. When I could NOT afford the 260.00 massage therapist, I requested a mild pain med to help me. The doctor would NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS OR PLEAS FOR HELP. I am extremely disappointed in his level of care.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Ajam?
Dr. Ajam on my last visit in June 2016 was rude and didn't take time with me as well as not being properly informed of my medicines. He left the room to go check the records for my medicine because he said I had not been on my pain meds since April. Later the nurse came back and brought 3 prescriptions in, one of which was for my pain medicing. Dr ajam head cut my medicine in over half and with me being in chronic pain after five hip replacements was cutting me out of my narcotic pain meds.

Dr. Ajam. Is very kind and understanding! I have been through alot medically in the past 20 yrs! I had been seeing a Dr. In palliative care. And I had found out in a short time that he would be retiring. It scared me to death! But he reassured me he would leave me in good hands. That was a understatement. Dr.Ajam does not only make you feel comfortable but he also was able to find what worked for me. And also gave me quality of life!I There is not enough space to say all I wanted to say WONDERF

Dr. Ajam has been diligent and determined in his efforts to control my pain. He has successfully decreased pain levels by utilizing procedures targeted at the root source of the problem. During office visits, he listens, takes his time and expresses compassion. His team of interns and Physician Assistants have all been up to his high standard of care. I am comfortable visiting any and all of his associates. I love his staff. I am always greeted with pleasant smiles and with courtesy and respect.
