I was a living liver donor for a friend, and Dr. Ravindra was my surgeon. Unlike many surgeons he is not only an amazing surgeon, but he also has an amazing bedside manner. He is one of the most caring doctors I have met. After my surgery despite staying very busy performing surgeries, he always made it up to my room to check on me. This was in addition to whatever responsibilities he had in regard to "rounds". This means that sometimes he would even come up to check on me twice in one day. A week later when I ended up in the ER due to a post surgical complication he came in on one of his very few days off to see me / exam me, and subsequently readmit me back to the transplant floor. When I first spoke with him he told me that he is my surgeon, not my recipient's surgeon. That his job was to take care of ME, and my health, and secondarily to assist me in providing this gift to my recipient. He is truly a wonderful man.
