Dr. Justin Phillingane, DPM

Dr Phillingane saw my husband while he was in the hospital. He repeatedly charted items inaccurately and never offered a full exam even though he made notes that he did. I called his office to talk to him and ask some questions about my husband's treatment only to be told by the woman who answered the phone that the doctor would not call me because he didn't make calls out and if I wanted to speak to him I would have to make an appointment.This evening I was present during the visit by him in my husband's room to recheck wounds on my husband's feet. I told him about trying to reach him and that I had some questions. He told me he doesn't call patients because a 'quick question' turns into over 30 minutes. He was rough with my husband's painful feet and spoke to me in a very condescending way.My 62 year old husband has end stage heart failure, he is on dialysis and has likely just a few months left to live if we are very lucky. He is receivink on his bedside manner

Dr. Phillingane is very thorough and gives me all the information I need to know for the betterment of my issue.

I went to hospital and had food surgery the nurse was good. But when I left went home thinking they had put the prescription in the pharmacy, but when I got home I didn’t get one which I really needed. I called back to the hospital and no one was there and then I called the Doctors office no answer had to leave a message. Still no one called back it is now 626 pm and in serious pain. We should be able to talk to live people when their is a problem.

Dr. Justin Phillingane is the BEST Podiatrist in the Central VA area. He is a role model for how doctors should treat their patients and approach medicine. He is a beyond competent, caring, credible professional. He has cared for my husband’s feet like he is treating his own family member & makes time to help no matter how busy he is. It was intimidating. He started harassing me as soon as he walked in telling me that I was infecting everyone at his office bc I didn’t have a mask on. I was trying to avoid talking about the mask issue but he kept pushing it and telling me that I was a terrible person and that I didn’t believe in Science. He made me feel as if I was a walking cesspool of germs. I started getting anxious bc he wouldn’t quit. Plus he never looked at my foot and he just guessed as what was wrong with my pain. He told me I had gout. No X-rays , no feeling around my toe nothing. I guess he is psychic. Worst doctors experience of my life. I would never recommend going!!

After the requested 15 minute early, unseen wait period, I was escorted to a patient room, friendly staff, however they came back over 30 minutes later to discharge my visit. I hadn't seen a doctor yet, they said 'Oh' and left. The Doctor came in shortly, only visually looked at my foot, did not explain what the problem was, as it was not a visible issue, prescribed a medication, disregarding my explaination as to my Primary Doctor taking me off all those types of medication, and was unclear about any follow-up or setting a visit I requested for ongoing problems with the opposing foot and ankle. There was another 10 minute wait period while a staff member could not figure out which form to give me for records requests from my orthopedic. I cannot at this time recommend this Doctor and advise against wasting valuable time on clearly inadequate services.
