Worth the wait times!
Dr. Gan is the best doctor I've had. Hands down. When I came to him with my symptoms he ran a ton of tests. The test results showed some smoke, but no fire. Dr. Gan began treating me based on my other known comorbid diagnoses, symptoms, and the partial evidence in my bloodwork. Treatment has improved my quality of life and he is the first doctor to not suggest my symptoms are 'all in my head' or 'maybe just lose a few pounds.' During each visit he listens and will sit with you for as long as it takes. What that said...When you show up for your appointment there is a high likelihood that you'll be told he is running 45 minutes to an hour behind. That is true. It is because he is being thorough with the previous patient and addressing their concerns. You will get the same compassionate care in your visit so calm down, bring headphones, and watch a TV show while you wait. It is worth it. Don't you dare make a stink about it because I prefer waiting for good treatment.

Fantastic Doctor
Dr.Gan is so compassionate, kind, funny and listens as he puts together the puzzle. He looked at past records and knew a lot. Dr. Gan never made me feel rushed and that's a wonderful quality. He answered all the questions I had. He even called me and spoke to me to and again I didn't feel rushed. This is how the medical field should be. This Doctor is an Oasis in a very dry desert of specialists.

He was very patient, listened to all my concerns, he answered all my questions, and was very thorough. Most doctors do not know what my diagnosis is but he was very knowledgeable.

Most compassionate, caring and thorough doctor
Yes, you might wait a long time to see him, both in getting an appointment and in seeing him. But, when it is your turn, you will have his full and complete attention and you will not be rushed in any way, shape or form during your appointment. He is the most thorough, compassionate and caring doctor I have ever come across. He listens well and combs through your medical record, taking very careful notes. I have never come across this in my life and am so grateful for his care. This is how medicine should be practiced.

My wife and workmate both see Dr. Gan . Both report excessive wait time , resulting in lost fuel, vacation time, wages and inconvenience's to others. Of course the staff offers to reschedule when Dr. Gan can not keep appointment times. Unfortunately it's months later.

Dr. Gan listened carefully to my concerns and symptoms, and he went above and beyond to investigate my whole health picture and what could be causing my pain. He took time, and when it came to running tests, he thought outside of the box. I was very pleased with Dr. Gan's professional, compassionate, and thorough approach. I think he is one of the best doctors I have ever seen at NorthShore.

Dr. Gan is a blessing for me and my family. He takes his time to listen and answer all your questions and concerns and discusses clearly future plans. He is always on top of test results and communicate with other doctors if needed. He treats me for a rare auto-inflammatory disease and has been the most caring person giving me hope and strength to treat my rare disease.

My primary care physician referred me to Dr. Gan because I was still having horrible joint pain for 4 months after coming back from a cruise. He has sharp evaluation/assessment skills , is courteous, professional and always kept me updated via Northshore Connect Portal on a timely basis with results of blood work and answered my questions. His staff was also very friendly and professional. As a nurse, I highly recommend him!!!
