Worst Gastroenterologies Ever

Dr. Crocker is the worst doctor I've ever seen. Never once asked about my health history. When I've tried sharing (including a major abdominal surgery I'd had only a month prior) he clearly didn't know what I was talking about. He stated 'I don't know why you had that surgery & I don't need to know.' The surgery was even at the hospital where he works. Couldn't care less. I was later told the pain I was in (which I was concerned could be my new meds) was 'probably from an ab workout' I 'didn't remember doing'. I'm bedridden & he knows that. I have to beg to have an in-person appointment bc he only will do virtual. He talks AT me, never to me, regurgitating the same info at each appt. Never asks if I have questions. I could literally die on the zoom & the man wouldn't even notice...he'd just keep talking at my corpse. Anyway if he's your doc - RUN!!! There are way better doctors out there & you deserve respectful care!

At least he didn't end me (yet)
He failed to read my chart for my history prior to the procedure. We corrected him of this failure to read my chart, pointing out what he missed. He also made a bizarre and patently false claim about a specific disease which was frankly alarming given he's the expert. In the interpretation of my result he continued to ignore the facts of my case, claiming things that were not true (except in the narrowest interpretation possible) in his write up. Finally there is no avenue available to respond or ask a single question.

Fabulous doctor, listens thoughtfully, asks questions that are important to getting to the root of your situation. Highly recommended. Best GI doctor I've had in 15 years.

He screwed up my pre-authorizations, making me pay out-of-pocket for a service I desperately needed. Horrible bedside manner. Didn't seem interested in hearing about my issues, wanted to just "get on with the surgery." He's in a hurry, and it shows. Never going back to Duke Gastro. Ever.

Does not listen well and acts as though he does not care. Supposed to be a specialist and yet my Primary Care Physician helped me more. Office staff is tremendously rude every time i call.

We visited Dr. Crocker recently because our 22 y/o son had chronic issues with stomach pain and nausea. We discussed all possible causes of his symptoms, and Dr. Crocker stated that he had gastric paresis, and that it couldn't be anything else. This was a pretty devastating and stressful day for all of us to hear him say that. Bottom line, Dr. Crocker was wrong! Seems like a nice guy, but needs to learn his job better and not deliver false news. I will not go back to him again.

Dr. Crocker was very professional and has a good bed-side manner. I gave him a 2-star rating because he accidentally punctured my colon; he was tattooing the spot where he removed a polyp. I received atrocious care at Duke Raleigh Hospital (my colon started leaking eColi and other bacteria into my body due to the puncture). I was remitted into the Duke Durham Hospital a week later because the treatment I received from Duke Raleigh did not close the puncture. I received 5-star care in Durham
