Dr. Julio Gonzalez, MD

Dr. Gonzalez replaced my hip. He did a great job. He is a very friendly doctor. He took his time & explained everything to me and patiently answered all my questions. I highly recommend Dr. Gonzalez.

Seems like I didn't get the same doctor his reviews were about but the opposite treatment. I broke my ankle and tore a ligament from snow skiing and he was the first ortho appointment I could get when I returned. He seems nice at first but as the visit progressed, I got the political side of him, not interested on your governmental views. I had a boot on from the ER and he says, don't know why they gave you one. Well could it be because I had a broken ankle and damaged knee. Tells me to wear shoes, flip flops are good, just don't twist it. WOW. I asked him about a temporary handicap sticker and by his reaction, you would have thought that I committed murder. How dare I ask for that since I can walk with crutches. The next day, he wanted to put a brace on me which was ill-fitted as I am petite. I was for adult size but I'm under 5'. He became irritated that I questioned him and said I brought this on myself. Well thank you for reminding me. Done with being mistreated!

Loved working with him when he first opened his clinic in Venice. Remarkable surgeon and very caring physician.

Dr. Gonzalez is a very knowledgeable, kind & friendly doctor. He takes as much time as necessary to answer questions and explain everything. His office staff are very friendly and accommodating as well. He performed surgery on me with excellent results. I highly recommend Dr. Gonzalez.

Dr. Gonzalez may be a great surgeon but in our case he was not good at all in communicating with our family. My mother, who is from out of town, broke her ankle at the beach and was taken to Venice Hospital. The people in the ER were great and took out contact information and told us they would call us as soon as my mother had been examined. They called us and told us she would need surgery and that Dr. Gonzalez was assigned to her. The next day she had surgery but neither Dr. Gonzalez n or any of his staff contacted us to let us know how the surgery was or what they had to do. Finally after five days and numerous attempts of contacting him through the hospital staff, he was in my mothers room and she called my sister to have him speak with her. He yelled at her and said that my mother was his patient and he did not need to speak with anyone else. The problem with that attitude is that my m other has trouble remembering things and could not really tell us what he said in his visits.

Dr. Gonzalez knows what he’s doing that’s for sure but his bedside manner is so wonderful he explains everything. I am grateful that he was assigned to me when I fell.

Dr Gonzalez is a very caring Doctor!! He treats you more like family and is one of the nicest doctors I have ever met .

Dr. Gonzalez is a GREAT doc! He performed hip/leg surgery on my 96 yr old Mom (in Oct. '18) and had her up & back in action in short order. Very compassionate, knowledgeable, and skillful. Takes the time to sit with both the patient and family to answer ALL your questions (even the dumb ones). Not at all impatient or rude, as some doctors can be at times. Highly recommended.

Doctor very good. Woman at desk said they do not accept Medicaid. We have Medicare and Medicaid SOC.and I noticed it is on their list of accepted insurances.

Dr Gonzalez is a well educated and well mannered Doctor. He provided excellent care and his office staff was very pleasent. I would recommend him to everyone! There is nothing like leaving the Doctors office with a smile.

Clearly these reviews are unrelated to his work as an orthopaedic surgeon. I have been treated by this physician for many years for different injuries and couldn't be happier with the care I have received.

Dr Gonzalez did emergency surgery on my mother's hip and continues to provide follow up. He is caring and clear, and has been very accommodating in schedules and treatments. He also found time to work with my wife, who also came in for a post-break treatment originally handled elsewhere. We liked working with Dr. Gonzalez.
