Dr. Julie Stahl, MD

My psychiatric practitioner left so I was assigned to Dr. Stahl. Prior to the intake appointment, I read some of the negative reviews here with concern and braced myself for what might just be an uncaring, cold, and possibly even rude physician. Well, I'm relieved to report that the person a few folks have complained about here bears no resemblance to the Dr. Stahl I met. She listened attentively, patiently answered all of my questions, gave me feedback, and was pleasant and polite throughout. I never felt rushed. I teared up at one point describing how my issues have hampered my life and found it hard to continue; Dr. Stahl kindly told me it was alright and gave me the space to compose myself. She was gentle when required. I could provide further detail but I just thought I'd offer a counterpoint because Dr. Stahl came across as inquisitive, caring, perceptive, supportive, and very smart. I felt grateful to be in her care.

Dr. Stahl probably saved my life. Many times. I trust this woman with my brain more than anyone else in the world. Even when I doubted her judgment and thought she was being dismissive of my complaints, she was right. I think Dr. Stahl comes off as rude to many people because she is highly intelligent and understands her patients well enough to move people along quickly. You can dislike her for that, but the results of her treatment are always spot on.

I've read the negative posts regarding Dr. Stahl. These people must be seeing a different doctor than the one I've been seeing for the past several years. I've always found Dr. Stahl to be professional, personable and attentive. When I went through one of the worst episodes in my life, Dr. Stahl was in continuing contact with me, adjusting my medications as needed and making sure I got back on my emotional feet and that I was stable before returning me to a regular routine. Dr. Stahl is a major reason I am on a psychological even keel and able to function and live a reasonably normal life. She's a 5 star person and doctor in my book

Arrogant, cold and self serving for sure

Do yourself a favor and avoid seeing this rude, sad excuse for a psychiatrist.

Julie Stahl is my primary care physician at Marin Community Clinics. She is far and away the worst physician I've had in my life. She is careless, arrogant, and self-serving. To make matters worse, her discourteousness and lack of professionalism rubs off on her staff. I had nothing but positive experiences with MCC prior to Stahl, however, since her arrival, she has prescribed me the wrong medication, cancelled a 3 month in advance appointment the day off, and refused any sort of communication.
