Very grateful.
I am an incomplete quadriplegic as a result of a car accident. Spinal cord injury from 1983. To make a long story short, my bowels :colon weren’t working well, and I was very miserable and had severe leg spasms. Dr Thacker removed my colon with great skill and avoided complications over what became a difficult nine hour surgery. She has dramatically improved my quality of life. I feel very lucky to have had her as my surgeon!

Nightmare
Showed up 2.5 hours late for my appointment. Spent 15 minutes listening to her talk down to both me and my wife regarding my upcoming surgery in December. I’m sorry that the diagnosis of stage 3 rectal cancer at age 41 with two small kids has inconvenienced her to this extent. Refused to go over scans (first and only ones since my initial diagnosis in April) because she stated she wasn’t the one who had ordered them. I’m feverishly seeking a second opinion prior to my surgery in December. I wouldn’t recommend Dr Thacker to anyone. What a joke

Pam
She did not or could not explain what happened to me in surgery. I went in for a six hour laparoscopic and ended up with a 12 hour surgery and no explanation of why. I was sent home with no wound vac and my abdomen split open to the point that you could place a fist inside. Would never recommend her to anyone.

Because of her lack of follow up after surgery I went into septic shock. My husband called her office 9 times two days after surgery with not a single call back after she told us she would be checking in daily. I lost 5 months of my life but was lucky to survive at all.

Doctor was very abrupt & wasn’t concerned with my opinion about my healthcare. She was so rude that I wouldn’t allow her to do my surgery & went to another hospital after discharge. She is void of bedside manners. When I asked if any of my small intestine could be saved she said “I’m not going to take the time to see what’s good & what’s infected” it’s all coming out! Thanks to the gen Med team who supported treating me medically, I was able to have a strictoplasty & resection at another hospital with minimal small bowel loss! I wouldn’t recommend her to anyone!

Made me feel like a bother to her. Saw her before surgery and never saw her again. No explanation about surgery to me nor did she even see me upon discharge. I was told after surgery I didn’t need to come back by her NP. She never believed my GI problems were worthy of an Ileostomy and because she didn’t place the osteomy originally, I was made to feel unimportant. Not a person who needed an Ileostomy despite my GI doctor and original surgeon disagreeing. Now I am very sick due to her mistake!

Dr. Thacker was very knowledgeable and probably a fine surgeon but I continue to be disturbed by my visit. I had a non-cancer issue and she made it obvious that my concerns were not worthy of her expertise and I was clearly wasting her time. As she was pushing to quickly end the consultation she made a flippant comment that was very hurtful and unprofessional. My bruised feelings will recover but I could never recommend her to anyone.

She is the worst doc I have ever met. Arrogant and don't care. She did colectomy on my father and his abdomen got infected.
