I agree with the others!
My sister and I were both patients of Dr. Farrer. Each of us got contradictory diagnoses from her on repeated occasions. Our follow-up “reports” after our procedures consisted of (badly) copied check sheets with nothing on them but a handwritten “No Barrett’s” - referring to Barrett’s Syndrome, when she specifically told us we had Barrett’s and put us on medication for it. She contradicted herself on our colonoscopy results, as well. Our mother had colon cancer, which is why we’ve tried to keep up with our screenings. She sent me to UNM for a capsule study months ago to determine the source of my bleeding, and has never even checked with me to see if I had it done. I think she’s too busy to be pleasant or keep her patients informed of their conditions/treatments.

Dr. Farrer is excellent
I started to see Dr Farrer a year ago for some complicated GI issues. She and her team have gone above and beyond to treat my issues. They are kind and compassionate. They deal with issues in a timely manner. I recommend Dr. Farrer highly!

My story is different
Dr. Farrer has been my Gastroenterologist for several years and she is nothing short of terrific! She was referred to me by my primary physician when he noticed a spike in my liver enzymes. It was a serious and potentially fatal disorder if not properly treated called NAFLD. (Google it) Two years later, the condition has been reversed and I am well on the road to beating it entirely. Please tell me … what more do you want from a physician? I’m writing this because I’ve read some stupid reviews that characterize her as being uncaring, unsympathetic, and aloof. Sorry folks. That’s just total BS. My experience has been just the opposite. Dr. Farrer helped me get my health back because I trusted her and did everything she asked me to do including losing 40 lbs which wasn’t easy but absolutely necessary. So when you read those lame reviews that mention cell phone calls during your appointment or other minor things, cut her some slack. Maybe she was busy saving someone’s life.

Julie Ferrar billed for seeing me in the hospital when she did not see me at all. I will be reporting her to the medical board. Apparently since it was “coded correctly” hospital will not take the charges off but maybe the medical board has something to say about it. I am in complete disbelief at her fraudulent behavior.

Had the worst experience with Julie Farrer. Cold and super curt. Within 5 minutes of meeting me, a person in my 20s, she suggested a colonoscopy+endoscopy. The procedure itself was abrupt. When being discharged I had questions, such as, was anything found? She rushed the questions and answered no. Which was weird because the discharge nurse had more info and contradicted Julie, that yes a polyp was found and sent to biopsy. Not sure why she was so irritated with me having questions considering she was the one eager to look up my butt. Julie Farrer wrote me a prescription, which I’m sure she banks off of, but didn’t bother to explain what or why she prescribed it. I went to get a second opinion and the doc told me to quit taking the medicine she prescribed.

Very cold and rushed bedside manner. She spent less than 5 minutes with me, on my follow up appointment after doing a surgery. Looked at my chart and said everything is fine, even though 6 months later I'm still having same issues. Very little care or concern for her patients. Mocks questions you may have. Doesn't explain anything. Talks down to patients.

She is a horrible doctor. I went to see her and she couldn't have cared less about me. She answered her cell during the exam. She only asked me one question. She asked if I wanted an endoscopy. Isn't that her job to determine if I need one?? The appointment lasted less than 5 minutes. I hope there is nothing seriously wrong with me.
