Dr. Julie Callanan, MD

She does not return phone calls. Very rude. She works at Cape Cod Hospital and unfortunately that experience changes psychiatrists for the worse where mental health patients are dehumanized when a hospital is more of a factory line of trouble rather than healthy interpersonal one on one treatment . Julie will prescribe, but empathy and respect is lacking. You're more of a diagnosed illness to her which she equates to a character flaw. She doesn't treat her patients like she would a friend or neighbor. My experience with her was very dehumanizing. Sometimes discrimination is just felt and understood. I'm not less than for requiring medical care!

Julie Callanan does not respect HIPAA laws. I was a prospective patient. I had also started the process of becoming a patient with another prescriber named Dr. Jing Patrinostro as I was in dire need of a provider. Unbeknownst to me the two women new each other outside of work as friends. Dr. Jing was demanding I provide hospital records I didn't have just to get an appointment with her. I couldn't acquire them because of my disability which I made Dr. Jing aware of. So after work hours, in the social hours of night, I receive a text message, a chain of text communication. It's Dr. Jing talking about me a prospective patient with Dr. Callanan in a detrimental way because I'm disabled and such patients can be difficult. (And likely a lesser means of financial reimbursements). What had happened was the two doctors were gossiping about a prospective patient me, and since I had been texting with Dr. Jing to set up an appointment Jing accidentally sent the message to my phone!

One of the most knowledgeable, compassionate Doctors in her field. Professional and extremely responsive when needed.

Never returned phone calls when she said she would. Very unprofessional doctor. I suggest you look elsewhere.

She is knowledgeable, competant, accommodating, and easy to speak with and I am older than her!

Dr. Callanan is an idiot. She's dangerous and incompetent. I was sent to her after PCP told me to sign up for disability because of severe back injuries at the age of 48. I was distraught so my PCP recommended that I talk to someone about it. Saw Dr. Callanan. She did not take the time to read my chart about why I was there and that I was potassium deficient. I have Bartter's Syndrome. It's the first thing listed. She suggested I was bi-polar after five minutes. almost killed me with lithium.

I have been seeing Dr. Callanan for 7 years. She is the best doctor I've ever had. She is brilliant, really knows her specialty, is consistently positive, and a pleasure to be treated by.
