Avoid!!!
I echo all the above negative reviews: she doesn’t listen, has a preset idea in mind, talks to herself not patient. But that’s just personality. Worse still is her lack of competency. Misdiagnosed me; missed obvious signs; and then negligently happened to write down the wrong code. When I asked her if she really thought I had psoriatic arthritis she just laughed and said ‘whoops that’s a mistake. I’ll fix it’. I would go anywhere but see her again.

Totally Disappointed !!
Dr.Ko prescribed a medicine for my RA and I did some research on the side effects of the drug and some effects were not pleasant at all.So I contacted the office and let her know I didn't think I would take this drug and what other options I had ? I got a call from her nurse stating that was nothing else she could do and I needed to find another Rheumatologist !!Wow what a slap in the face !! I never been dismissed by a doctor!!

Zero Personality
She is uncaring, is always rushed and makes no effort to actually listen. RA is a very complicated disease and Dr. Ko doesn't explain anything or give options. It's as if she doesn't want to be bothered.

I HAVE HAD 2 APPTS SO FAR WITH DR KO. I THINK THAT SHE IS GREAT. SHE MAKES SURE THAT I UNDERSTAND WHAT SHE IS TALKING ABOUT AND SHE IS VERY CONCERNED WITH MY PAIN LEVEL AND HELPING ME TO GET BETTER WITH THE LEAST AMOUNT OF MEDICINE AND COST. SHE ASKS MY OPINION AND SEEMS TO REALLY LISTEN TO WHAT I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT WHAT IS GOING ON WITH ME AND SHE TRYS TO HELP ME HELP MYSELF AND I THINK THAT IS VERY IMPORTANT. GREAT DR AND I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND HER TO ANYONE LOOKING.

Dr.Ko's nurse is very nice and Dr Ko is courteous. However, she appears very indifferent to your symptoms. My last visit she was showing me old blood work results and had forgotten she ordered recent blood work. When I told her of new symptoms I was experiencing, she just gave me a blank look and never did address the problem.I left the office feeling very discouraged and uninformed.I am trying to help myself with books, sad my Dr.can't help.

Been seeing Ko for several years and yet to get a solid diagnosis. She is a waste of time but unfortunately the only other rheumatologist in the area was caught chatting with a nurse in the hallway about fibro and lupus being psychcematic. Darned if you do and darned if you don't. I myself am looking for rheumatologist at uva

Dr Ko relies on blood tests to determine pain levels rather than patient inpu. At the end, when discussing her diagnosis and treatment plan, she talks too fast and everthing is suddenly rushed. On several occasions, her nurse laughed when I described the locations of my arthritis pain.

She has the personality of a rock, She doesn't speak loud enough to be able to hear her . Not very friendly , didn't greet with a Smile, When you can't hear what she is saying it's hard to understand and know her view point on my condition.
