I can say without hesitation, 'He saved my life'
After seeing 5 different neurosurgeons none of them would tell me anything more than 'You're a very complicated case'. It was obvious they were not comfortable treating me so I kept looking and found Dr Uribe. He immediately came up with a plan that had never been tried yet perfect for my wishes of maintaining some quality of life as a single middle aged man. He was very attentive to my feelings and concerns yet left me enough physical motion to be social and active. His staff was exceptional and always there. It's been 15 years since the surgery and going strong and thankful everyday for the mostly minor pain and complications that could certainly be much worse.

Worse experience of lead chief of surgery
Dr Uribe who did my thoracic surgery and lack of care post surgery not helping me with pain, incontinency or falling issues. Sent me a letter by certified mail and followed up with a letter. In the letter it stated I will not be seen any further by barrows or any department gave me no reason to why i cannot be seen anymore by them after there neglect, harassment and lack of care stating I will not be seen any further by barrows or any barrows department which i see a Neurologist for my cluster headaches. He lack of care especially after falling issues due to another emergency surgery done 1 moth prior on the neck. Only looking to save his name and not follow the oath he took to become a doctor. He did a great job on the surgery as i was expected to be paralyzed after the surgery, but never talked to me once till i made the complaint about his lack of care and trying to pass me off on my primary doctor who know nothing about how bad mid spinal was damaged or in how to treat after recei

I had C2 through 7 worked on by Dr Uribe 7 years ago. This is only the second surgery out of over 30 neuro and Orthopedic surgeries that worked out beautifully. If I ever have to have any spinal surgery again, I will be flying from Tampa Florida to Arizona in hopes that Dr Uribe would see me again. Linda Loehr

After undergoing PT, 2 epidurals and waiting months to see a spine surgeon in my area I was referred to Dr. Uribe at Barrow Brain and Spine by my former spine surgeon in Michigan . Dr. Uribe explained my condition and how he would go about correcting it as best he could. I appreciated that he did not "push me into surgery" but rather told me to think about it as it was a difficult and complicated surgery. I opted to go through with it and spent a month in Barrow ( ICU, Step down, Rehab). The following 3 months post-op were very painful and challenging (I was warned) but so worth it. Having RA and scoliosis I'm not pain free but I am so much better and attribute that to Dr. Uribe's skill. I was also fortunate to reap surgical and medical talents of Dr. Nima Alan, Dr. Uribe's Fellow. Additionally, the efficiency and kindness of Briana Becker, Dr. Uribe's Lead Medical Secretary and his entire staff were and are greatly appreciated. Thank you so much to this fabulous team!

I went to Dr Uribe because I like how upfront and blunt he is ( he performed my mother's surgery before me). No sugar coating. Throughly explained everything to me and gave me material to watch concerning my procedure. All of the staff were very caring and supportive. It is difficult to find caring doctors and staff nowadays. Wasn't a problem at Barrows. Very caring and professional! I have and will continue to recommend Dr. Uribe, his office, and staff. I had my C5 fused back in August of 2020 and they have truly been a BLESSING to me. Had to use a cane for 15yrs and was able to put it completely down for the past year!

Rude front desk staff. Dr Uribe recommend and wanted to book a cervical fusion posterior due to calcified ligament. Three others surgeons reviewed the cervical ct scan and said it wasn’t calcified and a much easier anterior was recommended.

Superb experience. Dr. Uribe resolved my spinal stenosis condition with minimally invasive surgery in October, 2018. After 3 months of focused rehabilitation at Barrow I have full mobility and I could not be happier with the results of surgery. Since the surgery I have not experienced any back pain. Prior to seeing Dr Uribe, I had medical consultations with two respected back surgeons and both said that I was not a candidate for minimally invasive surgery. I am forever thankful that my nurse friend told me that Dr. Uribe is an extremely talented surgeon who is expert in minimally invasive surgery.

I could not be more satisfied with my surgical outcome. For more than 6 months I had been dealing with debilitating leg pain. Dr. Uribe performed a 5 level XLIF procedure. Immediately after my surgery my leg pain was gone and I had minimal back pain. Now 3 months after my surgery I have resumed my normal activities without pain. The treatment and care provided by Dr. Uribe and Barrow’s team in Phoenix, Arizona has been great!

Just had an XLIF and Laminectomy a week ago. Was immediatley pain free in areas i have struggled with for years. This type of surgery is surely invasive so just have to accept that the fusion/healing process takes time. But Dr. Uribe, his team and the team at Barrows were excellent. I have been up and walking since day 1 and pain is manageable without the heavy duty muscle relaxers and opioids. You want Dr. Uribe to do your surgery!

I am incredibly grateful for the skill and compassion of Dr. Uribe and his team. In December, 2017 I had a 4 level ACDF procedure-quite an extensive bit of surgery. Dr. Uribe explained in great detail all of my options prior to the surgery as well as the expected outcome and risks. He ensured that my family was kept informed of the surgical progress and once the procedure was completed, personally spoke with my family post-operatively. The post-operative care has been well coordinated throug

Doctor Uribe was very empathetic concerning my back pain. He explained what he thought would be the best coarse of action, as well as other options. Based on his recommendation I went ahead with surgery. It has been 6 weeks since the surgery, and right now I feel the procedure was successful. I would like to thank Dr. Uribe and his team; including Dr. Joshua Wewel, and Briana Becker.

Dr. Juan Uribe is an extremely competent neurosurgeon. I recommend him highly for anyone who needs back surgery. I traveled from Texas to Phoenix in order to have my surgery at a highly-rated neurosurgical center with a highly respected doctor (he is the head of the spine department). It was well worth the travel to work with this wonderful doctor, his staff, and the staff of the hospital and rehab center.
