Poor Professionalism
Dr. Garza doesn't seem to want to be at work. He stands and seems ready to rush through my mom's visits. During the last visit, he simply said her labs are normal and didn't care to address my mom's concerns. He left the room while my dad was still talking to him. The nurse was very kind and had suggested that my mom ask the doctor for some new medication, but unfortunately, she wasn't able to because he left in a rush. Additionally, my mom asked him if he could recommend an oncologist, and he said no because he doesn't know one. What kind of doctor doesn't help his patients? He's just there to get the money—retire already!

Unorganized staff
Dr. Garza is nice and helpful. What isn't great is the staff and organization or documentation of patient records and follow-up actions. Called the office several times in the span of 3 days in order to get referrals and orders sent after they said it was already done, no one knew about the orders or referrals because they weren't documented, there was so much confusion on their end, then finally had them send it directly to me so I could forward it myself. Had to hunt them down the next week for more information that wasn't completed by their staff. It's easier to get in touch with their answering service than it is to talk to someone in their office. This has been a very frustrating experience and we're currently looking to switch doctors.

Serious problem with this practice !
I can NEVER make contact with this office. I complained to the practice manager, Mrs. Farris, who said she understood and is as frustrated as I am. I spent over an hour on the phone this morning listing to 'menu options and recordings' and still have not been able to change an appointment. AND this is not the first time this has happened! I have contacted the Baptist Medical Network, also to no avail. There is something seriously wrong with this answering service!!!!!

I was disappointed with this last visit with Dr. Garza. Usually, the level of care is excellent, thorough and pleasant. We waited for over an hour before we were placed in an exam room, 20 more minutes before we saw the doctor. An EKG was done but we were not told the results. Dr. Garza was abrupt and seemed bothered, not his usual self. His interaction with my mother was brief and not helpful. He discussed her cholesterol levels and when we said her PCP had just done them in December and we could have the results faxed, his response was, "well, I may get them, or maybe not, its hit or miss". I thought that was a strange response. He also questioned the dosage of one her medications but it was one HE had prescribed. Needless to say I was disappointed about the patient experience that day. To the point we are considering transferring care. I understand physicians are human and have off days but please dont take it out on the patient.

I saw Dr. Kalife Kuri. He was absolutely outstanding. He took his time with me, was very thorough and very attentive. He listened to everything I said, took copious notes, assessed and then made recommendations. I have much more confidence in my health after seeing him and that has changed my outlook for the better. The entire staff was amazing from the receptionist to the technicians, schedulers, etc. Thank you Dr. Kuri for caring about my health.

Dr Garza has been a huge part of my health since I was diagnosed with CAD. Until that point I, like many men, avoided a doctor visit. After all, we'd never walk out better than we thought (hoped) we were when we walked in. Now, Dr. Garza and my PCP are my friends and I enjoy my visits. Dr. Garza offers an honest and well explained evaluation. Regarding staff... the turnover is significant. I visit every 6 months and most of the staff is new every time I visit.

One cannot ask for better initial and follow-up services from a medical provider. This professional gentleman is much in demand. When attempting to praise him for services provided (keeping me alive through his personal, medical intervention) he refuses to accept the credit. His response is consistently, "I didn't do that." "GOD kept you alive." "I just sent you in the right direction."

dr.garza is great, but his staff that handles perscriptions is the worst, ive been waiting 10 days since the pharmacy contacted them. the pharmacist at H.E.B. has gone out of their way to get this taken care of. everything marked as urgent, 2 days more and nothing.
