Dr. Joyce Thompson, MD

She has been my mother's doctor for a year and they've never met. Every six weeks a nurse practitioner visits, takes her blood, etc., and then leaves. Although she's nice and keeps in contact with the family, this is not what we signed up for. I will be switching doctors and would never recommend this one.

When my mom's Geriatrician left her practice. We were offered several options and Physicians to choose from. We chose Dr. Thompson. From the beginning, Dr. Thompson seemed minimally concerned with my mother's wellness and often dismissive of concerns bought up at medical appts. We are now looking for a new geriatric practice the is more comprehensive in it's practices.

My parent was a pt for 3 years. Dr. Thompson, her nurse Sharon, and front desk gave the poorest medical care and cust service we have ever experienced. Parent continued to see her because she did not like change. Calls for refills went unanswered. Sharon, the nurse, never, ever called back for refill requests without at least 3 attempts from the pharmacy or us. When a specialist was requested, calls were never returned, even when we waited at the spec's office. Appts were randomly made for us.

Examined ears during routine visit, but wax build up not satisfactorily addressed by cleaning out or submitting referral to otolaryngologists accepting Medicare.
