He put me back together!
Though I’m in pretty horrible pain due to his amazing surgical skills, and have hardware in my leg now, I’m super happy with how my bones are no longer in pieces. He was super friendly and informative prior to surgery and I’m very pleased that I’ll apparently be able to walk again in just a month or so. Thanks so much!

Fantastic orthopedic Doc!
Dr Hunter was very thorough and explained everything to me in a way that I understood. He showed me on the mri what he was looking at, then showed me on my ankle what it was. He included me in my care decisions! He didn't push surgery on me. We discussed the pros and cons, and exactly what needed to be done, as much as possible, and then the ultimate decision was mine to make and I had his guidance. He's friendly, caring, and I'm confident in his skill in the operating room! He knew what he was talking about! This is not my first surgery on this ankle, and due to the issues with it, won't be my last. I will have Dr Hunter do all of them!

Disappointed!
So I went in for surgery thinking my issues would be taken care of— especially since the podiatrist botched the first. One of the biggest issues I complained about to Dr Hunter was my big toe deviating to the right after the first surgery. I was very specific to Dr. Hunter that the big toe needed to be straightened with trail this surgery. He said he would take care of it. The big toe now deviates worse than it did before. My upper foot issue seems to be more resolved, but the big toe is the main problem. I feel like he ran out of time during my surgery and didn’t want to take the time to correct the issue. Now today he is saying to give it three more months to see if my foot feels better. He said if it doesn’t feel better then he advises to do a fusion on the joint. After today, I’m ready to give up on all foot Dr’s. I feel like they just want to stack surgeries on top of each other to make money. I specifically said I wanted my toe straightened, and it didn’t happen!

I changed my appointment to accommodate Dr. Hunter. Drove from Bountiful, where my original appoint was, to Layton. Then I got the NP who did not recognize my broken foot on my first visit. I never saw Dr. Hunter. I’m definitely not pleased with how I was treated.

Make sure you can spare the time to be rescheduled
I had an appointment that I waited almost a month for and I had to schedule a day off which is never an easy thing with my work. I showed up 15 min. early for my appointment. I waited an hour and 20 min. before the nurse came in and told me that the Dr. wasn't there and wasn't coming in at all. I had another appointment in November of 2022 and at that one it took quite a while for Dr. hunter to come into the room. My track record with Dr. Hunter has been such that I find it necessary to move on and find another Orthopedic Surgeon, hopefully one that values my time a little more.
