Dr. Joseph Vermeulen, MD

One of the worst most uncaring doctors I have ever been seen by. Came in with a possible overdose and my family was told that there was no over dose, just alcohol intoxication. Poison control was contacted the next morning for the overdose and I was rushed back to the hospital with possible liver failure. He refused to do any other tests on my blood other than alcohol. I would never go back to that ER again and especially never let that doctor be part of my care team. He should be ashamed of his lack of care and urgency for the situation. Not to mention, condescending and rude to patients and family members.

No problems with the doctor, but there is no other way to tell him how awful his billing company is. Had a child who needed an appendectomy. Obviously ended up with bills from so many different companies. This was the only one who pretended I didn’t have insurance even though the hospital obviously had that info. I had to provide it to them personally. They finally submitted it, and my insurance paid in full. They re-sent it to my insurance, which obviously denied it since it was a repeat. Then they sent me a bill for the full amount, pretending the insurance didn’t pay. Absolute thieves. What a joke. Stop using Utah Emergency, Phys, PC.
