Dr. Joseph Savitt, MD

Long visit at new practice, now with Grove Medical Associates, Auburn. He was rushed when with St Vincent Medical Group but did his best to spend time to fix problem. He was better before going with St. Vincent and is better again now that he is with Grove. He is able to practice medicine the way he wants to so that he can do a better job and not be rushed. He is thorough, kind, compassionate and fixes problems. He has no problem stating when he does not know or can't fix and will refer to a specialist when necessary. He is in medicine to be a good doctor, not to get rich.

Dr.Savitt is an excellent MD. He gives through exams, is able to answers all questions in a knowlegeable way by keeping up with recent medical research. He has good judgement. He spends a lot of time with patient so is often running behind so you might have to wait. His staff is for the most part is polite and efficient. He is willing to refer you for medical tests and to specialists. He has a higher rating by my health insurer so my co pay is$40 rather than $20. He is worth the extra money so I recommend him.

If Dr. Savitt is deemed to be compassionate, perhaps this compassion needs to rub on his Secretary. I found her to be rude, ill-mannered and with total lack of empathy. I called for a appointment at 9.15 AM and had to leave a message. Called again at 11 AM with no answer. Called again via Umass at 2PM and they too could not reach any of the three phone numbers associated with this practice. Called via UMass at 3PM and got through. On enquiring about the delay was told I was rude and she hung up!
