I recently had to find a new pain management physician and really wanted to find one that was closer to my home. I did a lot of research and came across Dr. Oppong, Jr. I was very skeptical at first starting all over again with the process but after getting through their thorough intake I found the staff very friendly and helpful. When I had my first appointment with Dr. Oppong I found him very professional, he listened to all my concerns, reviewed my previous doctor’s information and was incredibly friendly and put me at ease. I would highly recommend Dr, Oppong, Jr. to anyone searching for a great pain management physician.

Incompetent Medical Office
The office is outrageously unprofessional, incompetent, and unempathetic. After explaining my condition (herniated disc/sciatica) to a receptionist, she scheduled an appointment for a steroid injection. I was not asked to make an initial appointment for a consultation or examination. 3 weeks later and 1 day before my appointment, a staff person informed me that my insurance company denied coverage. Ultimately, I learned the staff unilaterally requested coverage for the wrong procedure (an exploratory injection) despite advising me that I would receive a steroid injection. The office later explained they did so because they did not have my medical records. Notably, they never asked me for them or told me that they needed them. They next allowed the time for a corrected insurance coverage request to expire, despite advising me that they would do so. They also never sought my medical records, or even scheduled an examination. They simply waited for me to go away after wasting 3 weeks.

I have been a patient of Dr Oppong for 3 years. This entire time he insists on Mismanaging my pain issue's. I have had 3 back surgeries, the 2nd and 3rd surgery was to fix snapped rods in my back, causing extreme pain. I have had prostate cancer and beat it, Pancreatic cancer and beat that and 4 hernia surgeries. The lasting pain from the pancreatic cancer is extreme and permanent But this Doctor treats me like im faking the pain even after he can see proof from an MRI done last week showing fractures in my spine. He gives me such low amount of pain meds it.s sad. This is how he treats DISABLED people.

I just had my first appointment with Dr. Oppong and he was lovely! He understands full body/rare conditions and had excellent bedside manner. He even called his neurosurgeon friend for us while we were there to discuss my case and send me to the right person to fix my problem, instead of just putting a bandaid over it! His staff has been very kind and helpful in getting my records to where they need to go! They fit me in as an emergency and got me in fast. Five stars all around!

I have been using Dr. Oppong for about 2 years now since moving from NJ to MD. While in NJ I had a bad experience with a Pain Management doctor there and was quite cautious about getting any more injections in my back. I now have complete confidence with Dr. Oppong when getting my injections. Glad I found him.................R Johnson

Please save yourself the tears disappointment. This man has a argumental way of speaking at you and not to you..He believes he is a level above his patients. He is only in it for the money. The man has no compassion...I hope you find a different doctor . God Bless You And Yours

Great pain management doctor. He helped me recover from major surgery with a true caring nature that is hard to find. He is also proactive in all my health care needs, even beyond what he is required to do. He has been a true blessing for me and our community. Kudos and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
