We were on-guard when we initially came in to meet Dr. Mace because my husband's previous doctor had belittled and fear-mongered us when we questioned his recommendations for cancer treatment. However, Dr. Mace was patient and allowed us all the time we needed to ask questions about the recommendations. He also gave us thorough, straight-forward, and factual answers without the fear. I had heard from other cancer patients that many oncologists will be judgemental or uneducated when it comes to showing them the supplements a patient is (particularly any that are intended to help combat cancer), so I hear that many patients will lie to their doctors about what they are taking. With Dr. Mace, we felt comfortable being honest and felt the respect went both ways.

I had had some test data that showed abnormally high levels in some blood components and was in to treat that issue. Upon probing, he learned that I had recently started a new medication that could have an adverse effects on my pancreas. When I had some sensitivity in that area he was cautious and ordered a STAT CT scan. I appreciate the extra time he took to obtain the information from me regarding the new medication which I had forgotten to surface myself as well as the speed in which he ordered the lab tests.

The front desk people as well as the phlebotomists are kind and very knowledgeable. Dr Mace is the best. He is a wealth of knowledge and listens to every word I say.

My visit was fine. Turns out that I didn't get CEMO but I did get an appointment with another site. That was OK with me.

Dr Mace listened to my concerns and fears about several recent fainting spells. He asked questions and took notes and proactively scheduled an MRI immediately. His office staff was able to schedule a next day appointment for me and after a day of phone calls with insurance and my primary care doctor it was accomplished. I was thankful he acted on my behalf as I hesitated to go to the ER and not sure if it was safe to drive.The office staff was competent, professional, kind and instrumental in helping this come together.
