Excellent surgeon I dare say one of the top in NM. Dr. Lopez, without hesitation, took on a surgery considered too risky, problematic and with a low success rate that was being passed around between staff emergency surgeons like a hot potato. Nobody wanted to do the surgery. Meanwhile the patient was 10 days NPO (no food or drink) in case they decided to do surgery and was suffering while the doctors pussyfooted around the inevitable. Not only did Dr. Lopez act with the seriousness needed he was able to see a solution to the problem that the other doctors couldn't see. Where they saw no options he saw several good options. As a result the outcome was better than we could have hoped. Very thoughtful in his follow up and throughout he took the time to explain the procedure and answer any and all questions. Even though he is a very busy man we never felt like our time with him was rushed. So happy that we insisted on a second opinion and fortunate that Dr. Lopez was that second opinion.

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Lopez and the staff in his office. I would recomend him. His level of compassion and professinalism was top notch. I was well informed from the first vist all the way through my release from the hospital.
